END OF NOTE
The text of Isaiah-24 is a very important chapter concerning the Lost Ten =
Tribes.
Isaiah-24
[ISAIAH 24:1] BEHOLD, THE LORD MAKETH THE EARTH EMPTY, AND MAKETH IT WASTE=
,
AND TURNETH IT UPSIDE DOWN, AND SCATTERETH ABROAD THE INHABITANTS THEREOF.
Most of the major Jewish traditional commentaries say that this chapter is=

speaking of the Lost Ten Tribes. The Land of Northern Israel will be
emptied of its people.
[ISAIAH 24:2] AND IT SHALL BE, AS WITH THE PEOPLE, SO WITH THE PRIEST; A=
S
WITH THE SERVANT, SO WITH HIS MASTER; AS WITH THE MAID, SO WITH HER
MISTRESS; AS WITH THE BUYER, SO WITH THE SELLER; AS WITH THE LENDER, SO
WITH THE BORROWER; AS WITH THE TAKER OF USURY, SO WITH THE GIVER OF USURY
TO HIM.
When great calamity strikes all are equal. They all suffer the same
disaster.
[ISAIAH 24:3] THE LAND SHALL BE UTTERLY EMPTIED, AND UTTERLY SPOILED: FOR
THE LORD HATH SPOKEN THIS WORD. [
The land shall be emptied out. Archaeology confirms that this is what did
happen. Israelite settlemen\ts in the northern Kingdom of "Israel" are all=

destroyed, disappear. Most are not built up again. Those that are have
different inhabitants bearuing a different foreign culture.
[ISAIAH 24:4] THE EARTH MOURNETH AND FADETH AWAY, THE WORLD LANGUISHETH
AND FADETH AWAY, THE HAUGHTY PEOPLE OF THE EARTH DO LANGUISH.
  [ISAIAH 24:5] THE EARTH ALSO IS DEFILED UNDER THE INHABITANTS THEREOF;
BECAUSE THEY HAVE TRANSGRESSED THE LAWS, CHANGED THE ORDINANCE, BROKEN THE=

EVERLASTING COVENANT.
Northern Israel broke the Laws of the Torah. That is why they were exiled.=

See 2-Kings chapter 17.
[ISAIAH 24:6] THEREFORE HATH THE CURSE DEVOURED THE EARTH, AND THEY THAT=

DWELL THEREIN ARE DESOLATE: THEREFORE THE INHABITANTS OF THE EARTH ARE
BURNED, AND FEW MEN LEFT.
A very few did remain and these attached themselves to the Kingdom of Juda=
h
in the south.
[ISAIAH 24:7] THE NEW WINE MOURNETH, THE VINE LANGUISHETH, ALL THE
MERRYHEARTED DO SIGH.
[ISAIAH 24:8] THE MIRTH OF TABRETS CEASETH, THE NOISE OF THEM THAT
REJOICE ENDETH, THE JOY OF THE HARP CEASETH.
They were eating, drinking, singing, and making merry. That is all gone.
[ISAIAH 24:9] THEY SHALL NOT DRINK WINE WITH A SONG; STRONG DRINK SHALL
BE BITTER TO THEM THAT DRINK IT.
Drinking was a problem. The "Drunkards of Ephraim" are mentioned (Isaiah
28;1,3).
[ISAIAH 24:10] THE CITY OF CONFUSION IS BROKEN DOWN: EVERY HOUSE IS SHUT=

UP, THAT NO MAN MAY COME IN.
[ISAIAH 24:11] THERE IS A CRYING FOR WINE IN THE STREETS; ALL JOY IS
DARKENED, THE MIRTH OF THE LAND IS GONE.
[ISAIAH 24:12] IN THE CITY IS LEFT DESOLATION, AND THE GATE IS SMITTEN
WITH DESTRUCTION.
[ISAIAH 24:13] WHEN THUS IT SHALL BE IN THE MIDST OF THE LAND AMONG THE
PEOPLE, THERE SHALL BE AS THE SHAKING OF AN OLIVE TREE, AND AS THE GLEANIN=
G
GRAPES WHEN THE VINTAGE IS DONE.
[ISAIAH 24:14] THEY SHALL LIFT UP THEIR VOICE, THEY SHALL SING FOR THE
MAJESTY OF THE LORD, THEY SHALL CRY ALOUD FROM THE SEA.
"FROM THE SEA":
In Hebrew also meaning "from the west". The Aramaic and
Commentators say it means the exiles will be in the west in the last Days.=

Then it goes on to speak of Britain.
[ISAIAH 24:15] WHEREFORE GLORIFY YE THE LORD IN THE FIRES, EVEN THE NAME=

OF THE LORD GOD O ISRAEL IN THE ISLES OF THE SEA.
Piotr Gasiorowski: <<I think the tradition of erecting hilltop cairns and
mounds as orientation marks, and of using beacon fires for long-distance
communication was very strong in Celtic (also Roman) Britain; the landscap=
e
of much of the country is as suitable for this purpose as could be. One
trace of that is the occurrence of the Brythonic element tan- 'fire' (Wels=
h
t=E2n) in hill names (there are many Tan Hills in England). -- not only in=

ancient times but all through history down to the invention of the
telegraph. For example, a network of beacons set up on hilltops was used i=
n
England in 1588 to signal the approach of the Spanish Armada, and once it
was spotted off the Scillies the news reached the English commanders in no=

time at all.>>
Extract from "Lost Israelite Identity" by Yair Davidy
<<"The Chronicles of Eri, being the history of the Gaal Sciot Iber, or the=

Irish People, translated from the Phoenician dialect of the Scythian
language", by Roger O' Connor were published in London in two volumes in
1822. It is not certain what sources this work is based upon but internal
evidence indicates that it derived from similar ancient traditions as thos=
e
known from elsewhere .... The Chronicles of Eri do not expressly say that
their ancestors were Hebraic but they talk around the subject so that
Hebrew origins are the logical conclusion to be drawn even though such may=

not have been the intention of the editor or "translator" who attempts to
date the described events long before the time of Israelite exile.
<<The Chronicle says that the Gaali had been in Armenia, and the
Caucasus. They were traders and metallurgists, and archers. Oppressed by
the Assyrians they fled via Hamath in northern Syria [-Which incidentally
was known later as "Daphne of Antiochia" and was considered one of three
regions through which the Lost Ten Tribes were taken into exile*24. The
Jewish historian Nahum Slouschz (1909) regarded the exile of Daphne of
Antiochea to represent that of Israelites associated with the Phoenicians]=
.
<<The Chronicles tells how the Gaali sail to Spain which was then ruled by=

the Phoenicians who in turn were directed from (Assyrian-controlled?)
Hamath. In Spain they move from the southern area of Tartessos to Galatia
in the northwest and shake off Phoenician control. Together with the
Phoenicians from their base in Spain they establish mining operations in
Cornwall, in Britain. Some of them move to Aquitaine in Gaul. Due to war
and famine, those in Spanish Galatia emigrate to Ireland. Though not
Phoenicians they worship God under the form of baal, receive instruction i=
n
Phoenician ways, bear Hebrew-sounding names and seem to have
Israelite-values such as an aversion to images and other characteristics.
<<These people (the Gaal of Sciot) had the custom of lighting beacon fires=

on the coasts.
"All the headlands and promontories belonging to the Gaal of
Sciot on the northwest coast of Spain were called in the Phoenician
language Breoccean, that is, The Land of Flaming Fires, because of the
blaze that was kept up and could be seen at a great distance out to sea.
The same custom was observed on the coast of Cornwall and Devonshire after=

the Gaal of Sciot joined with the Phoenicians in their mining operations
there, and that land was called Breotan, Breo meaning Flaming Fire" [cf.
"BIAR" =3D burn in Hebrew].
<<This practice has been used25 to explain a verse in Isaiah:
"They shall lift up their voice, they shall sing for the majesty
of the LORD. They shall cry aloud from the sea. Wherefore, glorify the
LORD in the fires, even the name of the LORD God of Israel in the isles o=
f
the sea" (Isaiah 24;14-15).
[ISAIAH 24:16] FROM THE UTTERMOST PART OF THE EARTH HAVE WE HEARD SONGS,
EVEN GLORY TO THE RIGHTEOUS. BUT I SAID, MY LEANNESS, MY LEANNESS, WOE
UNTO ME! THE TREACHEROUS DEALERS HAVE DEALT TREACHEROUSLY; YEA, THE
TREACHEROUS DEALERS HAVE DEALT VERY TREACHEROUSLY.
We do not have to understand everything nor answer every conundrum. The
chapter begins by describing the Land of Northern Israel being utterly
devasted and emptied of Israelites who were all taken into exile. Thiswas
the exile of the northern Ten Tribes taken away by Assyria. Then come
verses saying that in the Latter Days the exiles will be in the west and i=
n
the Isles apparently meaning the Isles of Britain. There will be at least =
a
partial return to the True Way. Then some type of disaster will occur
apparently involving most of the earth. Finally there will be succor and
salvation to Zion and Jerusalem.

Subject: Ten Tribes Legally Gentiles
THE TEN LOST TRIBES ARE LEGALLY GENTILES
According to Jewish Sources:
The Lost Ten Tribes are destined to return. This is a principal in
Judaism. They are destined to renew the covenant which in effect means
conversion. Normally after a person is converted to Judaism he is
considered the same as a new-born Jewish baby and part of the Jewish
nation, meaning in effect "Judah". In the case of the Lost Ten Tribes
however the Lost Tribes will retain (even after renewing the covenant)
their ancestral Israelite Tribal status. Which tribe each Israelite
belongs to, in case of doubt, will be revealed through the agency of
the Messiah. Most Israelites will be descended from people who have
not intermarried. Some will have and according to the Abarbanel these
too will be accepted.
At all events, we in Brit-Am do not decide things. We examine the
sources and present our understanding of them. In some cases we may be
wrong, in others not.
Background 1:
In Yebamot 16b-17a it speaks of the non-Jewish legal status at present
of the Lost Ten Tribes and discusses it. This passage is the basis for
Jewish legal decisions affecting a great many other cases where
whether a person is Jewish or not are decided. The source should be
well-known but for some reason it is not. I was the one probably
responsible for revealing this source to Identity people. It has since
been misquoted and misinterpreted and used in a way detrimental to how
the Talmud is viewed. This somehow could be my fault. I am therefore
explaining the passage. This explanation is a paraphrase. It is not a
completely literal translation. It does adequately reflect the
intention of the original source.
Background 2: The Lost Ten Tribes were exiled by the Assyrians and
taken away "INTO ASSYRIA, AND PLACED THEM IN HALAH AND IN HABOR BY THE
RIVER OF GOZAN, AND IN THE CITIES OF THE MEDES" [2KINGS 17:6] Later
the Lost Ten tribes largely moved out of these areas into the north. A
minority remained however in the said places and intermixed with their
non-Israelite neighbors. In the Time of the Talmud it was known that
some descendants of the Lost Ten Tribes still remained in the said
places but had intermarried with Gentiles. They also worshipped pagan
gods and had accepted pagan customs. The question remained what would
happen if one of these people wanted to marry a Jewish girl and be
considered Jewish. Should he be considered as legally Jewish or not?
There were other questions as well of a similar nature connected to
this subject. Background: If a non-Jew betrothes a Jewish woman in a
Jewish religious ceremony the betrothal would be invalid from a
religious point of view: However:
Yebamot16b-17a: (see also Kiddushin 72b)
Said Rabbi Yehudah said Rabbi Assi: An Idolater who betrothes a Jewish
woman in a Jewish religious ceremony has done something we worry about
[being valid or not] since he may be descended from the Lost Ten
Tribes [and then perhaps the ceremony is valid?]. However there is a
principal that everyone who separates himself from his surroundings
belonged to the majority population that was in those surroundings
[Therefore since most Idolaters are not descended from the Lost Ten
Tribes we can assume that this particular person was not. Even if
physically he was it would not matter since we judge matters after the
majority]. Perhaps the intention of Rabbi Yehudah was about an
Idolater who came from a place where descendants of the Lost Ten
Tribes were known to have established themselves. [for instance] says
Rabbi Abba the son of Rabbi Kahana "and he settled them [the Ten
Tribes] in Halah, and in Habor, the Rvier Gozan, and the cities of the
Medes" (2-Kings 18). Halah is Halazon, Habor is Haydayb [Adiabene],
Gozan is Ginzak; The Cities of the Medes is Chamdan [Ecbatana] and its
neighbors. Others say it is Nahir and its neighbors. Shmuel says it
means Charak, Moschki, Chidki, and Domkia. Rabbi Yochanan says that
all descendants of Israelites in these areas are not counted [since
they probably have all intermarried with Gentile women and [the child
of a Jew and a Gentile woman is a Gentile. The child of a Jewish woman
and a Gentile however is Jewish. So what about the daughters?
[Perhaps] In those areas the women made themselves sterile. [This
suggestion was not exactly accepted. The problem remained, therefore]
They did not move from there until they had made all such people [in a
doubtful category as descendants of the Lost Ten Tribes were] be
considered as Gentiles for all intents and purposes, as it says.
"[HOSEA 5:7] ...THEY HAVE BEGOTTEN STRANGE CHILDREN".
Conclusion: There are other Biblical verses and other legal reasons
for the above decision. The decision may have even been in effect
before the discussion described. The bottom line was one of love. It
was for the ultimate good of the Lost Ten Tribes that they should have
the legal status of non-Jews until they be ready to return. The sages
had the authority to make such a decision (Deuteronomy 17;8-12).
Without such decision it is not possible to live according to the
Torah. I repeat that. When I have time I will write out a more
thorough exposition of the subject and perhaps publish it in a future
edition of BRIT-AM magazine. This is a sensitive issue and everything
should be considered in the whole correct context. The Lost Ten Tribes
today are legally not Jewish. They will return. They will accept once
again the Mosaic Covenant (Malachi 4;4-6):
[MALACHI 4:4] REMEMBER YE THE LAW OF MOSES MY SERVANT, WHICH I
COMMANDED UNTO HIM IN HOREB FOR ALL ISRAEL, WITH THE STATUTES AND
JUDGMENTS.
[MALACHI 4:5] BEHOLD, I WILL SEND YOU ELIJAH THE PROPHET BEFORE THE
COMING OF THE GREAT AND DREADFUL DAY OF THE LORD:
[MALACHI 4:6] AND HE SHALL TURN THE HEART OF THE FATHERS TO THE
CHILDREN, AND THE HEART OF THE CHILDREN TO THEIR FATHERS, LEST I COME
AND SMITE THE EARTH WITH A CURSE.

Yair Davidi replies:
Depends what you mean by "eligible".
Consider:
The Ten Tribes were once part of the Mosaic covenant and are
destined to return to it. Someone who believes in the Bible and
wishes to keep the festivals (or feels bound to do so) even though he
is not Jewish may do so and will be rewarded for doing so if his
intention is for the sake of Heaven, i.e. he believes this is God's
will. The difference is if he does not wish to do so, the option at
the present time is his not to do so. [Rabbinic thoughts]
When the Lost Ten Tribes as a group re-accept the Covenant then
keeping the Festivals as commanded will become an obligation.

Isaiah- 43
[Isaiah 43:16] THUS SAITH THE LORD, WHICH MAKETH A WAY IN THE SEA,
AND A PATH IN THE MIGHTY WATERS;
[Isaiah 43:17] WHICH BRINGETH FORTH THE CHARIOT AND HORSE, THE ARMY
AND THE POWER; THEY SHALL LIE DOWN TOGETHER, THEY SHALL NOT RISE:
THEY ARE EXTINCT, THEY ARE QUENCHED AS TOW.
Here he is talking of the miracle of the parting of the Red Sea. Some say =
this will repeated at the
Bosporus where a narrow sea strait divides the European part of Turkey
from Asia.
Extract from "Ephraim" chapter five in the 2nd edition and chapter six
in the first edition.
The Bosporus Straits were spoken of by Jerome (d. 420 CE). He
was the first to translate the Bible into Latin and had consulted with
Jewish sages. These scholars reported to Jerome the tradition that
Israelites exiled by the Assyrians had reached the Bosporus Straits
and passed over them to the north into Europe.
Jerome says: [on ZECARIAH 10;11: "AND HE SHALL PASS THROUGH
THE SEA..." ] "The Hebrews say that the Assyrians and Chaldeans took the
Jews into captivity not only to Persia and Media but also to the
Bosporus and the north; and at the end of days God in his mercy will
call them back from there:"
By "Jews" taken into captivity by the Assyrians Jerome is actuall=
y
referring to Israelites from the northern Ten Tribes. Strictlyspeaking
these were not "Jews" which appellation refers to Judaeans from the
southern kingdom dominated by Judah. Jerome was therefore recording
the tradition that the Ten Tribes or part of them had reached the
Bosporos Traits and from there passed into Europe. At all events
within fifty years of the north Israelites' exile the Bosporus had
become a Cimmmerian centre5 and was to remain so for about 150 years.
Welsh tradition6 claimed that their ancestors the Cymry (i.e.
"Cimmeri") led by Hu Gadarn of the Sons of Don had come across the
"Lazy Sea" (i.e. Mediterranean) to Defen in the British isles. He had
arrived from Defrobane which was just opposite Byzantium. In other
words Defrobane stood on the Asiatic side of the Bosporus in the place
where the port of Defen had been. Defrobane may be some kind of
linguistic derivation of Daphne. The BritishWelsh who came from
DEFROBANE opposite Byzantium called themselves Cymry and the
Scandinavian peoples contained an underlying ethnic stratum from the
similarlynamed CIMBRI of Celtic culture. In Scandinavian mythology one
version (reported by Saxo Grammaticus7) concerning the origins of
their ancestral gods said that they too came from the area of
Byzantium, and that one of their ancestors ruled over a city in the
nearby Hellespont called Dana8!
This is what Zechariah said:
[ZECHARIAH 10:6] AND I WILL STRENGTHEN THE HOUSE OF JUDAH, AND I WILL
SAVE THE HOUSE OF JOSEPH, AND I WILL BRING THEM AGAIN TO PLACE THEM;
FOR I HAVE MERCY UPON THEM: AND THEY SHALL BE AS THOUGH I HAD NOT CAST
THEM OFF: FOR I AM THE LORD THEIR GOD, AND WILL HEAR THEM.
This is the re-union of the Lost Ten Tribes with Judah.
[ZECHARIAH 10:7] AND THEY OF EPHRAIM SHALL BE LIKE A MIGHTY MAN, AND
THEIR HEART SHALL REJOICE AS THROUGH WINE: YEA, THEIR CHILDREN SHALL
SEE IT, AND BE GLAD; THEIR HEART SHALL REJOICE IN THE LORD.
[ZECHARIAH 10:8] I WILL HISS FOR THEM, AND GATHER THEM; FOR I HAVE
REDEEMED THEM: AND THEY SHALL INCREASE AS THEY HAVE INCREASED.
[ZECHARIAH 10:9] AND I WILL SOW THEM AMONG THE PEOPLE: AND THEY SHALL
REMEMBER ME IN FAR COUNTRIES; AND THEY SHALL LIVE WITH THEIR CHILDREN,
AND TURN AGAIN.
[ZECHARIAH 10:10] I WILL BRING THEM AGAIN ALSO OUT OF THE LAND OF
EGYPT, AND GATHER THEM OUT OF ASSYRIA; AND I WILL BRING THEM INTO THE
LAND OF GILEAD AND LEBANON; AND PLACE SHALL NOT BE FOUND FOR THEM.
Egypt and Assyria could apply to areas in Europe.
Gilead means Syria and Lebanon means Lebanon. These areas will be
re-populated by the Lost Ten Tribes.
[ZECHARIAH 10:11] AND HE SHALL PASS THROUGH THE SEA WITH AFFLICTION,
AND SHALL SMITE THE WAVES IN THE SEA, AND ALL THE DEEPS OF THE RIVER
SHALL DRY UP: AND THE PRIDE OF ASSYRIA SHALL BE BROUGHT DOWN, AND THE
SCEPTRE OF EGYPT SHALL DEPART AWAY.
