To: heb_roots_chr@geocities.com From: roy dirlam Subject: Do Jews need to accept Jesus as Messiah What does it mean to be LOST? The woman with the issue of blood is a good example. Matthew 5:20 20 And, behold, a woman, which was diseased with an issue of blood twelve years, came behind [him], and touched the hem of his garment: 21 For she said within herself, If I may but touch his garment, I shall be whole. 22 But Jesus turned him about, and when he saw her, he said, Daughter, be of good comfort; thy faith hath made thee whole. And the woman was made whole from that hour. Mark 5:25 25 And a certain woman, which had an issue of blood twelve years, 26 And had suffered many things of many physicians, and had spent all that she had, and was nothing bettered, but rather grew worse, 27 When she had heard of Jesus, came in the press behind, and touched his garment. 28 For she said, If I may touch but his clothes, I shall be whole. 29 And straightway the fountain of her blood was dried up; and she felt in [her] body that she was healed of that plague. 30 And Jesus, immediately knowing in himself that virtue had gone out of him, turned him about in the press, and said, Who touched my clothes? 31 And his disciples said unto him, Thou seest the multitude thronging thee, and sayest thou, Who touched me? 32 And he looked round about to see her that had done this thing. 33 But the woman fearing and trembling, knowing what was done in her, came and fell down before him, and told him all the truth. 34 And he said unto her, Daughter, thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace, and be whole of thy plague. Luke 8:43 43 And a woman having an issue of blood twelve years, which had spent all her living upon physicians, neither could be healed of any, 44 Came behind [him], and touched the border of his garment: and immediately her issue of blood stanched. 45 And Jesus said, Who touched me? When all denied, Peter and they that were with him said, Master, the multitude throng thee and press [thee], and sayest thou, Who touched me? 46 And Jesus said, Somebody hath touched me: for I perceive that virtue is gone out of me. 47 And when the woman saw that she was not hid, she came trembling, and falling down before him, she declared unto him before all the people for what cause she had touched him, and how she was healed immediately. 48 And he said unto her, Daughter, be of good comfort: thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace. This woman knew what it meant to be LOST she suffered all most as bad as if she had leprosy for eighteen years. Leviticus 15:19-28 19 And if a woman have an issue, [and] her issue in her flesh be blood, she shall be put apart seven days: and whosoever toucheth her shall be unclean until the even. 20 And every thing that she lieth upon in her separation shall be unclean: every thing also that she sitteth upon shall be unclean. 21 And whosoever toucheth her bed shall wash his clothes, and bathe [himself] in water, and be unclean until the even. 22 And whosoever toucheth any thing that she sat upon shall wash his clothes, and bathe [himself] in water, and be unclean until the even. 23 And if it [be] on [her] bed, or on any thing whereon she sitteth, when he toucheth it, he shall be unclean until the even. 24 And if any man lie with her at all, and her flowers be upon him, he shall be unclean seven days; and all the bed whereon he lieth shall be unclean. 25 And if a woman have an issue of her blood many days out of the time of her separation, or if it run beyond the time of her separation; all the days of the issue of her uncleanness shall be as the days of her separation: she [shall be] unclean. 26 Every bed whereon she lieth all the days of her issue shall be unto her as the bed of her separation: and whatsoever she sitteth upon shall be unclean, as the uncleanness of her separation. 27 And whosoever toucheth those things shall be unclean, and shall wash his clothes, and bathe [himself] in water, and be unclean until the even. And the woman was made whole from that hour. Made whole for this life she all ready had a place in the world to come for she had a right rellation with G-D. That"s all a Jew needs is to have a right relationship with G=D to have a place in the world to come. What about the Gentiles ? Jesus said in Matthew 25 that they would be judged for their acts of tzedakah. Matthew 25:31-46 31 When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory: 32 And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth [his] sheep from the goats: 33 And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left. 34 Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: 35 For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in: 36 Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me. 37 Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed [thee]? or thirsty, and gave [thee] drink? 38 When saw we thee a stranger, and took [thee] in? or naked, and clothed [thee]? 39 Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee? 40 And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done [it] unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done [it] unto me. 41 Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels: 42 For I was an hungred, and ye gave me no meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me no drink: 43 I was a stranger, and ye took me not in: naked, and ye clothed me not: sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not. 44 Then shall they also answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto thee? 45 Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did [it] not to one of the least of these, ye did [it] not to me. 46 And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal. Jesus preached the gospel of the Kindom. Paul in the "New Testament" preached the gospel of grace. Where did this gospel of grace come from? G-D or man. Roy From Eddie: ************** Roy, let's examine if grace comes from man or God and whether grace is associated with the OT. In Genesis 6:8 it is written: "And NOAH found GRACE in the eyes of eyes of the Lord" In Exodus 33:12 it is written: "And MOSES said unto the Lord, see, thou sayest unto me, Bring up this people: and thou has not let me know whome thou will send with me. Yet thou has said, I know thee by name, and thou hast also found GRACE in my sight" In Jeremiah 31:2 it is written: "Thus saith the Lord, thy people which were left of the sword found GRACE in the wilderness, even Israel, when I went to cause him to rest" In Zechariah 12:10 it is written: "And I will pour upon the house of David and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of GRACE ..." The Hebrew word used in the above passages for grace is (Hayn which is the Strong's Word 2580) Another Hebrew word which means "grace" is the word "Chaysayd" which is translated as MERCY or LOVINGKINDNESS. In Psalm 106:1 it is written: "Praise ye the Lord, O give thanks unto the Lord, for he is good and his MERCY endures FOREVER" GRACE and MERCY is WHO God is! In Exodus 32:6 it is written: " ... the Lord God, MERCIFUL and GRACIOUS ..." So, Roy, to answer your question (or statement), GRACE is NOT a "Christian concept brought into existance by Paul" but is a BIBLICAL concept and IS the NATURE of God Himself. Eddie Chumney
