Shalom Brother Chumney,

I recently (oh I guess a month ago) got my Hebrew Bible. It contains
both the Tanakh and B'rit HaChadashah. Now the Tanakh, I must assume,
is the Masoretic Text (i.e. This is not a translation). B'rit HaChadashah
(the New Covenant) is a Hebrew translation (I will never concern myself
with what is the best English translation again [ha, ha]). Well, I have
a long way to go in my learning of Hebrew, but one thing I was able to
pick up immedietly, was just about every verse that in English had the
word "grace" in it, in Hebrew had the word Chesed in Hebrew. As matter
of fact, Yochanan 1:14 where it says in English "...full of grace and
truth", in Hebrew it says "Malei Chesed Ve'Emet". The point being is
that the concept of grace is far older than the New Covenant as it was
from the begining. Remember it was Y'shua who said the weightier matters
of the law where:

   Faith, Mercy, and Justice

We all seem to be able to find the Justice in HaTorah, but I tell you the
Faith and Mercy are everywhere (this is especially evident in Hebrew).

...James
