It is good to know their leaders faults but you must concentrate on who is Yeshua! The J.W. do not believe in the Deity of Yeshua. They add words to Scripture to back their doctrine, ie John 1:1 "a" god, Col 1:16 "other" things. The two main Scriptures they use to back up thier belief is John 14:28 and Rev 3:14. My father is greater than I and first born of the creation of God. The word greater in Jn 14:28 is speaking of rank and not nature. Pres Clinton is our president but he is not a higher life form. In Rev 3:14, beginning of the creation of God, the word beginning is the word arkay which means source. The J.W. do not believe in the physcical ressurection of Yeshua. This is an enitre other study. Always remember you can win the arguement but lose their willingness to accept Yeshua as Messiah. Always remember they are a soul! You may contact him at: paulexjw@sunsix.infi.net May I also encourage you to remember to love our Jehovah's Witness brothers as Yshua loves them? Remember, calling their theology "stupid" will not demonstrate that love, but only alienate them and prevent them from hearing the message of hope you are trying to convey. Many people upon reading our Tolerance Statement on our site, or in our magazine write and tell us that when they read it, that it opened their eyes! Many cried because they realized that they had been intolerant and caused others to stumble along the way that might have not turned back from their walk. In this newsgroup there are people from all over the world! Eddie and I have a guestbook that people fill out when they find our site and we know that this is one of the most diverse groups around! But we also know that you all have a wonderful heart---and we love you! Some in this group are even atheiests anxious just to study and gain knowledge. Others are representatives of denominational churches, and some are "free spirits" that just want to "hang out" with us to see what we are about. One of the amazing things is, that over 90% of those that started out in this newsgroup in November are still in this newsgroup! Most newsgroups dissolve after 6 months, and so we recognize this as a special group of wonderful people all around the world. I teasingly refer to you all, and "The Church of All" on the internet! There just couldn't be a way to touch across the miles into over a thousand families lives, than is done through this newsgroup. We are grateful to HIM for bringing you to our home each week! We've met some very special people! In Little Rock it was like old home week when we met everyone! Lots of hugs and fellowship just like we had known each other for years! Eddie and the Holemans barely got to even speak during the weekend because there were so many of you there! It was wonderful! Next year we hope more of you will come to Little Rock so we can meet you. It doesn't matter to us if you are Jehovah's Witness, World Wide Church of God, Methodist, Believer or not! We just want to say that we can fellowship in unity and quit arguing! Let's center on that instead of differences, okay? I know some wonderful JWs. My daughter's father-in-law was a JW. He died in January and we miss him greatly! We never discussed our differences! We had wonderful fellowship, too! My son-in-law was not raised JW. He wasn't raised with any religion, and only after he was out of the home did his father turn to JWs. When our daughter met her future husband we were thrilled! What a fine family to be from! We are very close to the other family and always gather together in support of our grandchildren. My daughter and son-in-law have chosen to raise their children as we believe. The other family respects that, and it is not discussed when the families gather. We talk about our families and fellowship with tolerance. Just before the father-in-law died of cancer he was put in a nursing home. The JWs were very faithful to be there with him as was his family. My daughter-in-law spent many hours beside his bed visiting with his friends. They did not discuss differences but spent their time reading from the Psalms and talking of family. They were not obnoxious but were very supportive. Remember that it only takes one intolerant person in a room to ruin the evening. Please don't be that one! The door should always be open. It is only by HIS HOLY SPIRIT that people are drawn to HIM anyway. You can't get anyone saved. HE does it! We just have to keep the prayers up and be willing to be a vessel. Shalom, and know that we love you all! I asked them why the Jehovah's Witnesses did not observe the Sabbath or the Biblical Holy Days. They proceeded to tell me that the Law had been "done away", "nailed to the cross". I said, "Does that mean that we are now free to worship "other gods"? "Oh no," they said, "that commandment wasn't done away". "Does that mean that we are free to make idols and bow down to them?" "Oh no, that commandment wasn't done away." "Does that mean that we are free to use God's name in vain?" "Oh no, that commandment wasn't done away." "Does that mean that we can dishonor our parents?", etc. I purposly skipped the fourth commandment and saved it for last: "Well", I said, "shouldn't we, also, remember the Sabbath to keep it holy?" "Oh no, that commandment was done away." "Wait a minute, isn't that one of the ten commandments, just like the other nine that I asked you about?" "Didn't Jesus say that he did not come to distroy the Law and the Prophets?" "Yes, but he was talking about the Law that was given to Adam, the Law of Moses was abolished." I showed them how the Sabbath had been established at creation. "....and the Lord blessed it, and sanctified it." They said that the God sanctified it for himself, not for man. So, I turned to where Jesus said that "the Sabbath was made for man, and not man for the Sabbath. Therefore the Son of Man is Lord of the Sabbath, also." I also showed them the fourteenth chapter of Zechariah, concerning the observance of the annual Sabbaths. By this time they were looking at their watches and saying that they were late for an appointment. I don't know if my witness had been effective or not, but I hope that I had challenged them enough to examine the Bible a little more carefully. *************************************************************************** From: Jeff Bradshaw Subject: Re: Help with Jehovah Witness info and others To: heb_roots_chr@geocities.com Dear Jeremy, A word of encouragement and a word of caution... The word of encouragement: Thanks be to God that more people are looking to combat the tide of error and untruth which exists in the world, even among groups who today are sincere in their belief, but have been duped by their organizations' less-than-upstanding founders. More Christians and Messianic Jewish believers (though I usually find that Messianic Jewish believers are more well-versed in their beliefs than average Christians) need to be aware of what they believe, and more importantly, why they believe it, so that they can be well-armed to respond to the challenges posed by cult organizations and individuals who propagate theological error. My own little space on the Web is dedicated to this pursuit. You may find a link or an article which might help. I'll list it later, with my name, in case you or the other "rooters" are interested (sorry, Eddie, I joke in my Web page about "shameless promotion", and now I appear to engage in it). The word of caution: Be careful how you intend to stem this tide of untruth. The "founder is a crook" route seems easy enough, but Jehovah's Witnesses already have a ready answer to the mountain of evidence which they cannot deny regarding their founder, Charles T. Russell: "We do not follow the teachings of any man...", thus dispensing of his moral failings as a hindrance to their faith. Also, another "rooter" gave you the correct angle to take: who is Yeshua? By demonstrating the deity of Messiah in the scriptures, you will provide a better response than trying to trying to make a JW "look stupid". I've been involved in several different theological debates with people online, and I can assure you that there is no profit in considering your opponent as stupid. You will find that most online adherents to cult organizations or different religions are fairly intelligent, and much tougher to convince than you might imagine. So concentrate on what the Scriptures teach regarding Yeshua, and let Jehovah's Witnesses figure the rest out on their own. Jeff Bradshaw ******************************************************************** To: heb_roots_chr@geocities.com Subject: Re: Help with Jehovah Witness info and others From: (Richard W Breazeale) How true is this post, thank you for it. I visit several denominations in the Nashville Tn. area and abroad when able and have seen the Lord moving in most all denominations, I do not believe JW's would be excluded for the erroneous teachings of the leaders. God seems to be making a statement to His people and I fully believe His will WILL BE DONE! The word says that His people will come to the full knowledge of just who He is, He even prayed for this to the Father. He also prayed for unity of the body, which isn't agreement of doctrine, but agreement of just who He is, unity is based upon our focus and not our idealogy and doctrine. I am truly blessed having seen this in the body, He is doing a work never seen before! Of course I know some will not turn completely to Him above the church, but a divide will come eventually that will separate the goats from the lambs. Then, and only then will we truly be an envy and point of jealousy to the Jew, when we can truly walk in the light and shine as one body to the nations. Still under denominational names, but finally under one head, Jesus! Thanks again, and God bless..... Richard W Breazeale ********************************************************************
