Subject: John 14:6 connection to John 6:44,65

Dear Eddie:

We have all heard many sermons based on John 14:6, "Jesus said to him,'I am
the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except
through Me.'" I have never heard a sermon or discussion based on John 6:44
or John 6:65.

John 6:44..."No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent me draws him;
and I will raise him up at the last day."

John 6:65..."And He said, 'Therefore I have said to you that no one can
come to Me unless it has been granted to him by My Father.'"

Over the course of many years, I've asked the opinion of several,
supposedly knowledgeable, churchmen about these verses, and they usually
stutter and try to dismiss the John 6 verses, one even saying, "Well, that
just shows that G-d doesn't want everybody."

Since joining your newsgroup, I've come to respect the answers you have for
the most difficult of questions put before you; therefore, would you please
give me your opinion on the meaning and connection these verses have.
Personally, I believe our Father touches all of us, but it's up to us to
accept or reject His call...and the only way we can reach Him is through
Yeshua. Any responses from the "rooters" out there will also be
appreciated. Thank you for your help.

Love in Yeshua,
Helen

***************

It is God the Father who looks into the HEART of every person.
In I Samuel 16:7 it is written:

" ... for the Lord seeth not as man seeth, for man looketh on the
outward appearance but the Lord looketh on the heart"

God prepares the HEART of every person to believe in the
one true God of heaven and earth and in His Messiah. The agent that
God sends to do this work is His Ruach HaKodesh / Holy Spirit. In
I Corinthians 12:3 it is written:

" ...no one can say that Jesus is Lord but by the Holy Spirit"

In John 14:16 it is written:

"And I will pray the Father and HE shall give you another Comforter,
that he may abide with you forever"

In John 15:26 it is written:

"But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you FROM THE
FATHER even the Spirit of Truth which proceedeth from the Father, HE
shall TESTIFY of ME"

So, it is God the Father who sends forth the Ruach HaKodesh
(Holy Spirit) to testify to all men that Yeshua/Jesus is Messiah. No
one can come to the Father except through the Messiah (John 14:6).
No one can accept the Messiah except God send His Holy Spirit to draw
them unto Him and to open up blind spiritual eyes and spiritual
hearts which do not understand. However, as God attempts to point all
men to Himself through the Messiah by sending His Holy Spirit to draw
all men, man still has a free will to choose whether to receive the
wooing of God through His Holy Spirit. The Spirit of God will testify
that Yeshua/Jesus is Messiah (John 15:26, I Cor 12:3).

Therefore, we come to God the Father with the help of the Ruach
HaKodesh / Holy Spirit through the redemptive work of the Messiah.
