Richard - I couldn't agree more. I read this book many years ago as a
university student, and I hadn't got very far into it when the Lord showed
me that it was demonic. This poor naive man became completely obsessed
with all things angelic and -- as you say -- his life was destroyed.

Frankly, I get very worried when >>ANY<< believer gets over-interested in
the topic of angels. The Bible is all we need. It tells us everything we
need to know about angels - and that's not much! <grin> We only have to
look at the amount of "coverage" that angels receive in Scripture to know
that they had very little to do with the life of your average believer.

I have a book, "Dancing with your Shadow" which purports to be a Christian
book. It was given to my wife by a well-meaning but deceived woman. The
subject of the book is all about getting "in touch" with your inner self.
The book is riddled with Jungian psychology and worldly psychological
teaching. Anyone who gets seriously into this book may well end up getting
"in touch" with something, but it won't be your inner self - whatever that
might be. Rather, this book could well get you in touch with deceiving
demonic spirits, just like what happened to Pastor Buck.

Modern Christians are too obsessed with angels, and they are also too
obsessed with the demonic. It's better not to have an unhealthy obsession
in either direction. But I'd suggest that those who are over-interested in
encounters with angels should take care lest they end up meeting angels --
of the fallen variety.

I have the book, Angels on Assignment and I think there is something
wrong with presuming that if someone dies of a massive heart attack,
that they have been corrupted by a deceiving angel. I found the book
to contain a lot of truths that a deceiving angel would not like
mankind to know. Kathern Kulman, the great healer, died of cancer.
Does that make her ministry suspect? No!

Yes, we should not be consumed with angels instead of worshipping
God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit, but it is interesting
to learn as much as we can about those who will share heaven with us!
