===S==h==a==l==o==m=== Eddie,

Thanks for your response regarding Bible Study Tools! I hope you can
help me with just one more thing: do you have the ISBN#'s of the
following books?

1) Hebrew interlinear Bible for the Tenach (coded with Strong's numbers)
2) Greek interlinear Bible for the NT (coded with Strong's numbers)
3) Gesenius Hebrew-Chaldee Lexicon coded to the Strong's
4) Thayer's Greek-English Lexicon coded to the Strong's

I hope this isn't too much trouble! I recently purchased an interlinear
Greek NT that did NOT have the Strong Numbers! So, to help me get to the
right tools, I hope you could look up your references and pass them on!
I'd be very grateful.

Todah rabbah.

John

To John Parsons and other interested Rooters:

Happy to pass this on...I'm hoping a lot of readers will at least give
Riplinger's book a scan, because there's much more than meets the
eye, it seems, with many of the "newer Bible versions." Problematic
Greek or Latin texts are only the beginning.

The main problem appears to be one of a hidden adgenda - on the part
of Westcott and Hort, anyway. The reader will have to judge for
themselves, but that's not likely to be difficult, given Riplinger's
40 pages of footnotes (in 6-point type, I might add! so that's a
BUNCH) documenting the dark side, you might say, of Westcott and
Hort's contribution to Bible scholarship.

"New Age Versions" is published by A.V. Publications, PO Box 280,
Ararat, Virginia, 24053. They list a phone: 1-800-435-4535 ["credit
card orders only"], and offer a free catalogue as well.
ISBN#0-9635845-0-2. It's $14.95, plus shipping, they offer 30%
discount for 5 or more copies, but the 700pp. will likely be daunting
to many "friends on your shopping list!"

Sincerely,
Patrice Stanton

Mrs. Riplinger's book was a major "wake up call" for me as I have
studied in depth (since 1982) the New Age movement and it's
inflitration and influence into the Church...I was always concerned
about the confusion created by the many Modern versions of the Bible
because of major points of disagreement especially with the KJV (my
personal preference without knowing really why at that time). I
discovered these problems in my personal Bible teaching with both
adults and young people for the 18 years preceding my discovery and
reading of her book, New Age Bible Versions. Her research rang true
with all of my study and Bible experience as well as all of the cross
referencing that I did...I have read this book now 6 times with many
notes and research of my own....I can totally endorse her work and
Christian spirit of humility...I have found her critics to be
extremely biased and unfair, especially when they inaccurately attack
her literary devices as though they were her personal "dogma"....and
their false assertion they make that she is claiming co-authorship
with GOD Himself which is totally untrue...she simply gives God the
credit and glory for making the entire work possible and leading her
to undertake this monumental work. I find it amazing that the critics,
(including James White, author of 'The King James Controversy' which I
have also read carefully several times) do not properly address and
refute the many serious substantiated and documented evidences against
older (and "better"?) Alexandrian manuscripts that are seriously
flawed and contradictory even among themselves... AND containing NON
CANONICAL books of FALSE doctrine accepted by no true believers in the
early Church. Many other powerful arguements that she makes in the
book likewise go unanswered....such as the rejection of the NASB by
it's co-founder, Dr. Frank Logsdon, after he carefully researched
these issues....this book is a must read for any truly committed
believer in the Lord Jesus Christ....the evidence demonstrates that
God has preserved his pure Word as He promised (not just in the
original autographs) and I am completely convinced by the weight of
the evidence that it is NOT in the "New" Greek Text (the Eclectic
Text) of Westcott and Hort which was translated into the many Modern
English Versions....Satan is alive and well on planet earth deceiving
even the "greatest Christian scholar's" of our day....the old Majority
Text (Received Text, Textus Receptus et al.) will stand and it's
English translations provided back in the 1500's and 1600's
culminating in our NO COPYRIGHTED KJV (AV)..."the love of money is
(indeed) the root of all evil"...including this evil issue of
deception....not surprisingly, the Modern Versions corrupt even THIS
essential doctrine....Lance R. Schmidt (Pace, Florida)

The greatest book in print dealing with corrupt versions!!!
This book represents the death nell for the Wescott & Hort text type.
Contrary to what you may read in some of the reviews here the
information is accurate and reliable to a fault. The King James Bible
is God's Word for English speaking peoples. Doug Dodd Pastor Berean

Imperfect, but useful
While Riplinger's book certainly is not perfect, it is an excellent
resource for those wishing to study textual differences between the
Authorized Version and the modern versions of the Bible. Many times
verses from each of the versions are given in table format so that
quick comparison can be made between them. Also, many "critical"
verses are commented upon in detail. While some material may be
incorrect, the book is certainly useful if studied carefully.

G. A. Riplinger Answers Her Critics
Many People have ridiculed Mrs. Riplinger for this book. To answer her
critics, she wrote another book titled "King James Version ditches
Blind Guides." This books answers the criticisms of "New Age Bible
Versions." It answers the criticisms of T. A. McMahon, Dave Hunt,
Patty Lalonde, Robert L. Thomas, Robert Morey, David Cloud, The
Trinitarian Bible Society, Bob Passantino, Hank Hanegraaff, Wayne
House, S.E. Schnaffer, and some others.

By far one of the worst example of research ever presented.
Ms. Riplinger's book is rife with errors, falsehoods,
misrepresentations, misquotes and faulty reasoning. It lacks so much
in solid research that the credibility of the author is all but lost.
Upon closer, independent research one finds that Ms. Riplinger either
had shoddy research or else purposely mislead the reader to further
her own agenda. I honestly and sincerely cannot and will not recommend
this book as an truthful and accurate resource. You want truth? Skip
Ms. Riplinger's book.

Illogical, inaccurate, and riddled with error
Gail's arguments are so ill-constructed, her reasoning so unsound, and
her scholarship so fallacious that one wonders if *any* statement she
makes is accurate. I'm troubled by her story that God literally
dictated the book to her. I encourage the serious Bible student to
check all her references--they don't add up. I'm also troubled by the
unnecessary division this book has motivated in the body of Christ.
The reader is encouraged to examine James White's book: "The King
James Only Controversy" (www.aomin.org). He presents a
well-researched, scholarly, and praiseworthy defense of modern Bible
translations.

AN EXHAUSTIVE SIX YEAR COLLATION OF NEW BIBLE VERSIONS!
This book exposes the shocking TRUTH behind new Bible
versions.Extremely well documented!Courageously stands for the King
James version.I HIGHLY recommend this book to anyone who desires to
better understand the Bible controversy and a clearer view on how the
doctrines of these new Bible versions will prepare apostate churches
to accept the religion of the Antichrist!

The most deceptive and dishonest book I have ever read.
Their are many books published concerning the problems of Biblical
textual criticism and translation errors. Gail Riplingers book is full
of dishonest representaions of the facts. Many places she gives
incomplete quotes or completely misrepresents the quoted position.
Riplinger also makes many accusations concerning the character of
people without any basis or documentation to back up her claims. If
you purchase this book I would encourage you to research all of her
claims and not simply take her word for any statement she makes.

A Well Researched Book Documenting The English Translations
Ever wonder why there are so many English Bible versions? I did until
I came across this book. G.A. Riplinger spent six years of research in
the areas of the Greek Manuscripts, English redability, and new age
religeons. She writes with much documentation on why many of the
current English versions are not good translations. I highly recommend
this book to anyone with an interest in Bible versions and the new age
movement. It will open your eyes.

Shalom All,

I wish to echo a caution expressed in a previous response to the book
"New Age Versions" by Gail Riplinger. With regards to the quoting and
footnoting in this book, I feel that if the same standard of accuracy
she is requiring of others was applied here, she'd fall quite short.
No doubt she has done her homework and brings important considerations
to light -- BUT, It is a little alarming when someone quotes out of
context while putting forth a case for textual accuracy. As
previously encouraged, do YOUR homework and check out it. As well,
avoid strictly emotional or sentimental conclusions.

Jon Foster
