Dear Eddie,

We lived in Boise, Idaho, when Pastor Buck wrote Angels on
Assignment. We had friends who attended his church, Central Assembly.
Every week they would tell us, "You should hear what the angels shared
with Pastor Buck this week!" (He made a fortune selling tapes of the
weekly revelations.) We finally attended a service with them one
evening. Pastor Buck said that God had revealed a prophecy to him, but
he was not allowed to tell what it was until after it had happened, but
that people could see his diary after it happened and see that he had
written it down. Now, who couldn't do something like that? I could
write down what happened yesterday today, then show it to people and say,
"See, I knew that would happen." He said many other things, too, that
just did not seem right. Cocnerning the young woman who said that he
told some truths: Satan always disguises lies with the truth. The truth
is the bait that hooks you with the lie. "Let no man beguile (defraud)
you of your reward in a voluntary humility (by delighting in a false
humilty) and worshiping of angels, intruding into those things which he
hath not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind" (Col. 2:18). We
don't know if Pastor Buck was deceived by demons or if he simply was
using the sensational to attract and keep followers. We were not
surprised when we heard of his heart attack.

Because there is so much false information out there concerning
angels, both secular and religious, my husband studied this subject and
did a sermon series concerning angels. (It was a very good series, I
might add.) His main source was the Bible. This is where we should all
look concerning God's truth on angels. Another good book not only
already mentioned is "Angels and Demons" by Victor Knowles. It is
published by College Press in Joplin, Missouri. Their address is P.O. Boc
1132, Joplin, Missouri, 64802-1132. Their toll free order number is
1-800-289-3300.

Hopefully all your readers will remember that it is the Lord we are
to seek and know better, not angels. If we are grounded in the Word,
then it is less likely that Satan can deceive us. Again, we thank you
for your tremendous ministry. You are a blessing to us.

Shalom,
Louie and Karla Celaya

I didn't say that because he died of a massive heart attack his
preoccupation with the angels he met were wrong. I listed that as the
final result of his destruction. My former Pastor knew this man
personally and his entire ministry became about these false angels.
They would wait in services for the angels to appear. If you notice
in the book, the angels draw a little too much attention to themselves
and not enough to Jesus. And, I will not be sharing heaven with the
angels. I will be sharing it with Jesus, my Abba and all my loved
ones. At this point, we will judge angels and be far above them in
the Kingdom of Heaven. While I appreciate their presence in my life
and their service to the Lord, I have no interest in spending time
with them in heaven. I want to be with my Lord every moment of
eternity. And, I do have a problem with people of great anointing that
die in the fashion you mention. I can't find it in the Bible. It
indicates to me a death from something in their "flesh".

Would just like to relate a true story concerning this book "Angels on
Assignment" - my son was given this book by his youth minister when he
was about 15-16 years old....he was very committed to serving the Lord
as is his youth minister. My son showed me this book, and I scanned
it...having a sinking feeling in the pit of my stomach - something
about it 'didn't ring true'...but with a headstrong teenager intent on
knowing God in everyway possible, and taking the word of his youth
minister as gospel, he proceeded to devour this book... and as far as
I'm concerned, the book devoured him. Soon, he was coming out of his
bedroom to 'share' the 'light' of this book - well, he was
experiencing 'demons' coming out of his walls, his lights ect ect and
attaching themselves onto his back, his head ect..and his excitement
was in 'CASTING OUT DEMONS'!!!!

Needless to say, I was furious....I tried very calmly to help him
understand that even though, yes, there are demons, many times what
christians claim to be demons are actually imaginations - and those
too need to be cast down. Not only do too many christians search out
the 'angels' - they are busy searching out demons in every nook and
cranny.

I have become very skeptical over the years concerning those who are
constantly in search of 'other' things and those in leadership who
encourage and promote those 'other' things -

Let's not give overdue credit....where none is due...whether they be
angels of light...or darkness...

Dear Emilie,

My Dad died of lung cancer when I was ten years old.
After his death, my mother went and consulted a number of mediums and
spiritists to make sure that he was "ok on the other side". They told
her some things which only Dad could have known - which convinced her
they were for real. Without exception, they told her that he was fine
and having a great time. Eventually, (thank God!) she stopped going to
see them, but thirty one years later (oops - I'm giving away my age!)
she would still maintain that Dad is in Heaven.

I'd love to believe that he's in Heaven too. Even though he died when
I was so young, I still miss him sometimes. But the harsh truth of
the situation is that my Dad wasn't a Christian, never attended church
(except to get married) and never made a profession of faith in the
Lord Jesus Christ.

Now ok - one could argue that he had a death bed conversion
experience, and I'd love to think he did. But that's not the point
I'm making. The point I'm making is: do >>YOU<< believe my Mum really
found out where Dad was by visiting those mediums? The reason these
people were able to tell Mum things that only Dad knew is because they
were getting information from demonic spirits. And those spirits are
in the business of convincing people that -- no matter what they
believe -- they'll go to heaven when they die.

Paul told us that even if an angel from Heaven should preach a
different gospel to what he preached - then he should be accursed.
(Gal 1:8) Paul also warned us that Satan himself was able to appear
as an angel of light. (2 Cor 11:14) These things being so, it really
doesn't matter what incredible experiences Pastor Buck had. If
>>ANYTHING<< that this "angel" told him was contrary to Scripture,
then it was a deceiving spirit.

You say that the book contained a lot of truths that a deceiving angel
would not like mankind to know. OK - what? Like I said, anything
that is contrary to Scripture is false, and anything that draws us
into an obsession with angels is also highly suspect. It's
interesting to note that aside from the Gospels, the book of Acts, and
Revelations, the word angel only appears three other times in the NT -
and I've already given you two of those references.

Every blessing,
Dave

Concerning Pastor Buck and his book 'Angels on Assignment.':

I was attending his church during this period of time. I was able to
talk to him in his office. I do not believe he was "obsessed" with
angels. He was allowed a visitation by angels. He then shared that
experience with his congregation and in his book. Yet, his main
message remained Jesus.

As far as him dying from a massive heart attack, how do you come to
your conclusion. Should we conclude that everyone who dies from a
massive heart attack was off into things "demonic"? I don't think so.

In His love,

Alan Niedeauer
