Dee,

I agree with what you said about speaking the Truth. I see the Church
watering down the Truth all the time and tip toeing around the Word of G-d!
Many Believers, some in Pastoral positions, are pleasers of man and
displeasers of G-d. I believe the Truth must be spoken in Love, but
without apology. G-d said to come out from among them and be separate. (2
Corinthians 6:14-17) Who is He telling His people to separate themselves
from? The pagans. That does not mean we are to not let the light of
Messiah shine, but it does mean that we are not to be like the world. G-d
said in Deuteronomy 12:30 "Be careful that you are not ensnared into
following them after they have been destroyed before you and that you do
not inquire after their gods, saying, "How did these nations serve their
gods? We will do likewise." You shall not do so to the Lord your God, for
every abominable thing which the Lord hates they have done to their gods."
And in verse 32 he says "Whatever I command you, be watchful to do it; you
shall not add to it or diminish it." G-d gave us a way to walk. He said
"Be holy for I am holy." This is not only a scripture found in the Tanakh
but it is written in the pages of the Renewed Covenant also. I also agree
that it is sin when one does not keep the Festivals and Sabbath. 1 John
3:4 says "Sin is the violation of the Law". Keeping the Festivals and the
Sabbath are commandments in the Torah. I believe that we will all be
judged by what we know. A lesser judgment will fall upon those who have
not heard the Truth and a harsher judgment will fall upon those that have
heard the Truth and still choose to disobey it. Yes, we are only saved by
the blood of Messiah Yeshua and never by works. However, that is not a
license to sin (break Torah). Paul knew this when he wrote his letter to
the Romans. Romans 6:15 "What then [are we to conclude] Shall we sin
because we live not under Law but under God's favor and mercy? Certainly
not!" G-d's Way is the only True Way. All man made traditions are false
and the Truth is not in them.

God Bless all of you out there. Keep speaking the Truth in Love!!!!

Shalom all

I agree with Dee. If I deliberately murder or commit adultery, would
that not be a grievious sin? Then why would breaking the Sabbaths not
be equally sin? Is continuing to murder a salvation issue? What about
continuing to rape or blaspheme or living in adultery? Would this be a
salvation issue? If it would be, then why not the breaking of the
Sabbath? Who watered down the importance of Sabbath observance?

The Sabbath is the only Commandment which is also a Covenant. Exodus
31:13-17 says, "You must observe my Sabbaths. This will be a sign
between me and you for the generations to come, so that you may know
that I am the LORD you makes you holy...." Read these verses through,
they are very important.

Also, the Sabbaths are a sign on our hands and forehead (God's mark) -
read Deut. 6:8; Deut 11:18. How interesting that the followers of the
"beast" have a mark on the hand and forehead as well. Maybe, in a
spiritual sense, these are the counterfeit Sabbaths instituted by
Rome, which unfortunately, the whole of Christendom keeps.

Funny that the whole world (except Israel) keeps Rome's Gregorian
Calendar and her 'holy days' whether they are "Christians" or not.
This is enough to make me consider well the importance of keeping
God's Sabbaths (appointments with HIS people).

Funny also that the Sabbath is the only one of the ten Commandments
that Rome officially changed. I have come to the conclusion that the
Sabbaths are indeed the 'seal of God' upon His people. We would do
well to be "sealed" before the coming of Messiah.

Anyway, If you are interested in reading more on this, go to my
article "The Seal of God" http://www.fan.net.au/~sos/seal.htm
