Hi Bruce,

If you get a copy of The Dake annotated reference Bible you will find
a listing of the 1050 commandments on page 313. Hope this helps.

In Yeshua,
Bill

How to create your own List of New Testament Commandments - Here
is what to do:

(1) Start at the gospel of Matthew, read carefully, thoughtfully and
prayerfully, right to the end of the book of Revelation. You will need
to do this in stages.

(2) Have an exercise book and pen available. Whenever you come to a
commandment that you are told to do or keep, note the verse and
briefly write down a comment describing the commandment. You will not
need to look very far because you will bump into your first one, quite
early in the gospel of Matthew. I will not tell you where the first
one is - that will ruin the fun!

(3) After you write down the commandment, stop and briefly ask the
Holy Spirit to show you how to respond in whatever area of your life
He sees fit.

(4) Whenever the Holy Spirit shows you a commandment that you should
act upon - do it, willingly.

(5) If you find yourself responding in a grudging fashion, repent and
ask for the strength of the Lord.

(6) You might take a bit of time getting round to finishing your list,
but I can assure you, people will tell you how much like Yeshua you
have become. This should take place way before you get through to the
end of the book or Revelation.

(7) When you get to the end of the book of Revelation. Do not publish
your findings in a paperback book, but encourage others to create
their own list of New Testament commandments the same way.

Yeshua said - If you love me, keep my commandments (John 14:15)

John said - By this we know that we love the children of God, when we
love God and keep His commandments. (1 John 5:2)

YHWH said that He shows mercy to those who love Me and keep My
commandments. (Exodus 120:6)

Doesn't Yeshua sum up all of the commandments in Matthew 22:37-40
that we are to love God with all our being and that we are to love
our neighbor as ourself?

Dear Eddie, et al,

When Jesus was questioned about the greatest comandment, He quoted the
Shema. His teaching was consistently bringing each of us back to
matters of the heart. It does not good to keep all the commandments
and the fences about them if we have ill toward our brother or if we
have ill toward God. Walk in love and the commandments will follow out
of a love relationship with the Lord.

Now, to the question about the 613 commandments. I don't have a
complete list to give out, nor have I done a complete study on them
all together, however I do have some guidelines to consider. One
needs to determine where he/she fits into the commandments in order to
know which ones are applicable. Are you Jew or Gentile? Are you in
the land of Israel or elsewhere? If Jewish, are you a Kohen or
Levite? Are you a natural born Jew or a convert? Are you a man or a
woman? Are you an adult or a child? Is it a weekday or a Sabbath? Is
it a normat Sabbath or a special Sabbath associated with one of the
feasts? Is it a Sabbatical year? Is it a Jubilee year?

It can get quite tedious to make a determination of all commandments.
Different requirments go with each of the above situations. You also
need to ask if you are looking for salvation or a closer walk with
God. Is your motive pure? Are you seeking a closer relationship with
our Creator? Are you wanting to find some comfortable limits in which
to operate so you can relax and not struggle with what God is speaking
to you today?

I think you can see where I am going with this. It comes back to a
matter of the heart and Yeshua gave the answer when He quoted the
Shema. I do not mean this to be offensive in any way or to be flip.
It just occurs to me that I hear a lot of questions about stuff
without really considering the very basic foundations first. As I talk
with friends about some of these issues I come to one main conclusion.
The more I read and pray and study, the more I realize that I don't
know anything yet. Walk softly and gently in Love and seek God with
all your hearts.

Shalom, Randy Felton
