I have enjoyed the various thoughts on Passover and Easter, but how can the statement <that 'Easter' should be celebrated on the first Sunday after the vernal equinox> be correct? That would mean that Easter always must fall on the first Sunday following 21 March (or Spring). That is hardly the case. I do agree that The Nicaean council made a serious error in changing the Biblical Passover into a Pagan related feast called Easter. From: Elizabeth Saez This explanation was very interesting, brief, and hopefully beneficial for Christians who don't know the whole story on Pesach. I also wanted to mention a video from a Christian/Jewish hebraic roots perspective named "The Last Supper and Biblical Cuisine". Here is the description for the video: For the first time, the most elaborate and extensive film ever to be made on Last Supper. This extraordinary video tape was filmed and dramatized entirely on authentic locations of the Holy Land and the Middle East. Jesus met with his Twelve disciples in the "upper room", where they shared the meal that history knows as the "Last Supper". It was the traditional Jewish Passover "Seder" meal, which to this day, symbolizes the deliverance from slavery to freedom and is commemorated for the last supper the ancient Hebrews shared before leaving Egypt, on their long journey to the Promised Land. The LAST SUPPER video restores this special event emphasizing both its Christian tradition and Jewish roots. It explores the recipes of the exotic Biblical courses served at the supper: The bread, the salads, the herbs, the olive dish, the lamb, wine, fruit and all other magnificent courses. 1993 from Mirkam productions ********************************************************************** Subject: Passover calendar From: jill kropp To: <heb_roots_chr@geocities.com> I'm interested in seeing a complete calendar of Passover for this year. I know when it starts, but I'm unsure when it ends or when special observances are to be remembered. Jill K. ***********************************************************************
