There is an excellent resource available in Hebraic Dance; Messianic Dance
International which can be purchased from Lederer catalog. It has videos,
tapes, and a wonderful instruction book. I am from S. C. and came across this
at a MJAA conference in California about 4 years ago. Has been a
great help!

I am also interested in exchanging info on newly choreographed dances
for HIS unity, Ps 133!! My spirit breaks forth in praise and
worship along with many of Paul Wilbur's recorded songs... the LORD
has shown that many simple Israeli folkdances can be done in their
entirety as an adaptation to these songs as well as many others.
I already shared many from the new "Jerusalem Arise" CD that we were
able to praise with at a recent concert here in the Midwest. If you
are interested I am willing to share. And what have you recently
received...??!!
Knowing some is a great beginning; keeping it simple while allowing
repitition enough for true worship and praise to ascend is my goal.
I have a mixture of teachings from conferences, *MDI tapes, Israeli
Folkdance classes, and tapes from Israel(obtained thru my old Israeli
instructor). My teaching is based on the simpler folkdances for
adaptations to our songs/music of today. The LORD has burdened me to
help His worshippers, prayer warriors, intercessors, etc. to be able
to release thru the dances.
What songs do you dance to and what dances do you already know? I
use and teach much of the "beginner" Israeli Folkdances such as
MaNavu, Tzadik Katamar, Sulam Ya'akov, Lo Ahavti Dai, Hora Hadera,
as well as some basic ones off the MDI curriculum. *Messianic
Dance International has videos to help("Keeping it Simple";
"Embracing Our Jewish Roots"; "Touching the Hem of His
Garment")...
they are listed in MJMI catalogs and many other Messianic outlets.
When others have shared their hearts in the dances always far
surpassed any video teaching!
Consistency in offering a place where others know they can always come
to learn is important when you want to move on from beginner to adv
beginner, etc. I encourage you to stay with it, even as you are
finding other dances and only have a few for now.
I have been running workshops known as "MACHOL WORKSHOPS" informally
for a few years now in WI and northern IL so if there is anything more
I can offer you please let me know...this is my husband's "e" site,
Much of what I offer in my "MACHOL WORKSHOPS" is based on the simpler
"beginner" Israeli Folkdances. I also share Praise Dances taught at
conferences, etc and dances from the Messianic Dance Int'l curriculum.
Where are you located? Did you learn thru MDI ?........
Shalom...........................
Trish
