IDUMEA IS GREEK / ROMAN FOR ESAU

Idumea is the Latin form of the Biblical name Edom, which means “red”.

Edom was called by the Greeks and Romans “Idumea” (Mark 3:8; Ptolemy, "Geography," v. 16)
