WHY DO WE RECLINE DURING PARTS OF THE PASSOVER SEDER ?
Passover is the festival of freedom. Passover is a celebration of redemption from slavery to become a king and a priest before the God of Israel.
Spiritually, we remember our redemption from the bondages of sin through the shed blood of Yeshua the Messiah to be His kings and priests.
In ancient times, kings reclined to represent freedom. When you partake of items during the Passover Seder which represent freedom, it is a custom to recline. When you partake of items which represent slavery, you do not recline.
