THE HIGH PRIEST SAYS
THE NAME YHVH
The high priest would pronounce the name YHVH ten times on Yom Kippur. Three times during each of his confessions and once when he cast lots to select the goat to be offered as a sin offering and the other goat to be sent into the wilderness. When the goat selected to be the sin offering was identified through the casting of lots, the high priest would say that it was sanctified as a sin-offering to the God of Israel using the divine name, YHVH.
