AZAZEL THE SCAPEGOAT

The goat upon whom fell the lot, ‘To Azazel’ was sent into the wilderness. Before the goat was sent out, the high priest laid his hands upon the head of the goat and confessed the sins of the nation of Israel putting the sins of the nation of Israel upon the goat. In Leviticus / Vayikra 16:10, 20-22 it is written:

Leviticus 16:10 But the goat on which the lot fell to be the scapegoat shall be presented alive before the Lord to make an atonement with him and to let him go for a scapegoat into the wilderness.
