THE CRIMSON THREAD
DOESN’T TURN WHITE
It is recorded in the Talmud that 40 years prior to the destruction of the Temple in 70 C.E., the crimson wool thread at the Temple did not turn white. In the Talmud it says:
Our Rabbis taught: During the last forty years before the destruction of the Temple the lot [‘For the Lord’] did not come up in the right hand; nor did the crimson coloured strap become white ... (Yoma 39a)
These were the years between the death of Yeshua on the tree and the destruction of the Temple.
