THE HIGH HOLY DAYS

Beginning with Rosh HaShanah / Yom Teruah is a final ten-day period to the season of Teshuvah ending on Yom Kippur / the day of atonement. These days are known as the High Holy Days. The days between Rosh HaShanah / Yom Teruah and Yom Kippur / the day of atonement are known as the Awesome Days (Yamim Nora’im).

The Sabbath that falls within this ten-day period is called Shabbat Shuvah, the Sabbath of Return. Five days after Yom Kippur is Sukkot, the Feast of Tabernacles.
