SHOFAR: REMEMBER THE BINDING OF ISAAC

The significance of Genesis / Bereishit 22 is the obedience of Abraham to offer his son Isaac as a burnt offering to the God of Israel upon the altar. The binding of Isaac to the altar is known in Hebrew as the “Akeidah”. In Genesis / Bereishit 22:1-14 it is written:

Genesis 22:1 And it came to pass after these things, that God did tempt Abraham, and said unto him, Abraham: and he said, Behold here I am.
