DERASH: THE RAM CAUGHT IN THE THICKET

In Genesis / Bereishit 22:13, the ram (lamb) that the God of Israel gave to be slaughtered in the place of Isaac was caught in a thicket by his horns. The thicket represents the sins of the world. The ram (the lamb of redemption) represents the Messiah who would come as a redeemer and in redeeming His people would be caught in the thicket (dying for the sins of the world).
