ROSH HASHANAH = HIDDEN FROM HASATAN

In traditional Judaism, every day during the month of Elul, a shofar is blown to warn people to do Teshuvah and turn back to the God of Israel except for the 30th day of Elul, the day preceding Rosh HaShanah. On that day, the shofar is not blown and is therefore silent. The reason for this is that according to Jewish tradition, HaSatan (Satan/the Accuser) is not to be given notice about the arrival of Rosh HaShanah / Yom Teruah.
