But he is not the one who discovered the codes. I do not think we should try to predict the future by them at this point, but I don't think we should discount them just because he is the one who brought them to the attention of the public. We all know that numbers in the bible are very significant symbols. There is so much heresy about the bible nowadays that it is very easy for people to be decieved. Especially those who are looking for a way to sin and not give an account of themselves to anyone. It would be wonderful to completely understand all the wonders of the bible. I have heard 1 Cor. 2:9 quoted all my life. Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. READ VS. 10 BUT GOD HATH REVEALED THEM UNTO US BY HIS SPIRIT; FOR THE SPIRIT SEARCHETH ALL THINGS, YEA,THE DEEP THINGS OF GOD. I believe God wants us to know his mysteries. Thanks for listening. He wrote about the codes before the book "The Bible Code" came out, and Grant is a born again believer whereas Michael Drosin is not !!. Drosin confesses in his book he does not believe in G-d, he only wants to confuse. I believe that Prof Rips is a genuine man but Drosin has used him for his own ends......profit. I was given a copy of "The Bible Code" and although it made interesting reading it should be taken with a pinch of salt. Read Grant's book and see a totally different point of view. Rejoice for the day of the L-rd is at hand, and the battle is the L-rds! B'shem Adonai Y'shua Ken ********************************************************************** From: Scott Neil To: heb_roots_chr@geocities.com Subject: Re: The Torah Codes by Drosnin Ken, Thank you for your insights into the reading of the "Bible Code" book. I too read it and was amazed. Not by the future predicting claims but of the mathmatical complexity of the code. Even it if just said "Hello, glad you found the code" it would be amazing. I do not read Hebrew but many of my friends do and I gave the book to them to read and tell me what they think. I have not heard from them for over a month. That could be good or bad, I can't say. I do have some difficulty with "A review of Michael Drosnin's book The Bible Code by Stephen Yulish Ph.D." I found his comments typically shallow and condesending when he would say: >I have seen Michael Drosnin not only on Oprah, CNN, and >other secular shows, but I have seen him on Christian programs as >well. Remember that Drosnin is an atheist. He believes that there are >so called secret codes in the Bible, but he believes that they were >put their by extraterrestrials. I found it even more interesting that a man, a Jew and journalist could see all of this and still remain an atheist. This just proves to me that the things of G-D are Spirit and man will come up with all kinds of reasons for the material world. History is litered with such folly. Darwin's theory of evolution is an prime example. He looked at G-D's creation and saw "It Happened by Chance" He read the Bible and saw "It Happened by Chance". I read it and I see G-D. Also there is a tradition in Reform Judaism that rejects the concept that the Bible is "G-D breathed". They espouse the idea that the Bible was writen "After-The-Fact" and writen by hundreds of people over several hundred years. The idea that a "Code" of any kind could be found in a document that could have been writen in this way is even more incredible than is one man actually wrote it. This to me is the message and I believe it is principlely for the Beth Israel. In defense of the "Bible Code" as I read it I found that Mr.Drosnin would make a claim to the Codes ability to predict the future and then later on he would admit that it couldn't predict the future but that it might "Suggest that there are multiple possibilities" for future events. Indicating that the future is not set. That it really is determined by the free will of man. He also pointed out that the Code seamed to be "Interactive". I got the impression that if a future event was altered, either by chance or by choice, that the code would or could reflect such changes. I was taught that Biblical Prophecy was not so much as "Fortune Telling" or "Predicting the Future" as it was a means of "Warning" or "This is what will happen if you disobey the L-RD" type of thing. But I wouldn't put it past some people to try and use the Code as a 'Ouja Board' but to put this book into the same catogory as ". . . . anyone who makes his son or his daughter to pass through the fire; one who uses divination. . . . " might be taking this a bit too far, don't you think? This is just my opinion. > "There shall not be found among you anyone who makes his son or his >daughter pass though the fire;one who uses divination;one who >practices witchcraft or one who interprets omens or is a sorcerer; >one who casts a spell or a medium or a spirtitist; or one who calls >up the dead. For whoever does these things is detestable to the Lord" >(Deuteronomy 18:10-12) > ************************************************************************ From: "Suzanne Lancaster" To: <heb_roots_chr@geocities.com> Subject: Re: The Torah Codes by Drosnin Dear Eddie, The above captioned post was quite interesting to me. I had read the Codes book, and noticed too that despite all he found, Mr. Drosnin did not give credence to the existance of G-d. Sad. And I too felt a check in my spirit at his efforts to predict the future through the codes. But I did not shy completely away from the book, because DESPITE Mr. Drosnin's atheism, his research (I believe) planted seeds which will hopefully lead him to his Adonai before it is over with. It has gotten my worldly sons interested in the Bible, on their level -- mathematics, probability, and "what kind of intelligence could put this together but God?" Mr. Drosnin also did not look, in his research, for what Yacov Ramsel looked for -- Yeshua! But He can be found in the codes, more fully and unarguably than Mr. Drosnin presently can imagine, but to me it is exciting that brain/intelligence/knowledge oriented people will have here an unarguable proof of a very INTELLIGENT and powerful and perfect G-d. For these, I pray that the next step will be to ACKNOWLEDGE Him as L-rd (the hardest of all hard things for people who have relied on their own smarts in life). So, yes, we do not need to practice devination. Indeed, we dare not! But if HaShem put those codes in there (who else could have done it?) we should be trying to understand why, and give Him glory. It does make His Book provably unlike any other book, and with as many people trying to put other books -- the Koran, the Book of Mormon, Science and Health, et al -- on a par with or superior to the Bible, this Book is shown to be unique, to the most hardened skeptic. That is why I am glad for the book. It will leave a lot of people "without excuse". Even Mr. Drosnin. Shalom, Suzanne (Shoshannah) *********************************************************************
