Shalom Gary

Join the "club" in feeling as though you know nothing. I've been a
believer 22 years, been an ordained minister, taught Bible study for 15
years and have recently come to the same conclusion - "I know nothing".
Only recently have I come to know the real Yeshua and my "Jewishness" in
relationship with him. There has been so much to unlearn, while at the
same time the Ruach HaKodesh is revealing incredible truth. Through
entering into covenant with our Bridegroom Yeshua (even for you guys),
we become "Messianic Jews". Welcome to a new beginning and a very
exciting path of learning!

How do Messianic Jews view proselytes to their faith. Are they
considered to be Jews?

A Jew who accepts Yeshua/Jesus as His personal Lord and
Savior is a "Messianic Jew" --- a Jew that believes that Yeshua/Jesus
in Messiah. A non-Jew (Gentile) who accepts Yeshua/Jesus as His
personal Lord and Savior is a "Messianic Israelite" (Gentile).
Whether we are born Jewish or not-Jewish we are all one in
Messiah. We are members of the family of God and we worship the
God of Israel.

I was raised as a Christian in the Seventh-day
Adventist Church which teaches that the Sabbath should be kept holy
from Fri. sundown to Sat sundown. I was taught that the entire Bible
was to be followed not for fear of being punished, if it wasn't
followed, but out of a joyful spirit and a devotion to G-d. I believe
Yeshua was and is the Messiah and that He is coming again! Recently
my wife and I have felt that the Holy Spirit is moving in our lives and
we have felt the need to introduce our family to the Jewish festivals
that are clearly meant to be kept by God's people. I have always
considered myself to be grafted into the family of God and a member of
the scattered remnant of Israel. We don't know if we have any Jewish
relatives but feel a strong tugging on our hearts to study and to
follow the things that we are learning about. We realize that it is
not membership in any organization that matters to G-d (what matters
is what is in a persons heart and their relationship with Him). We
believe that we are living in the time period that Jesus was telling
his disciples about when He was sharing with them the parable of the
fig tree (Matthew 24)and find it interesting that many other
Christians from various denominations are also actively studying the
Jewish festivals as they relate to Christ and His fullfillment of
them. G-d says in His word that he will gather His people together in
"those days". I believe the Holy Spirit has led our family to study
the hebraic roots of Christianity in order to show us a picture of
true worship. Thank-you for your ministry. At what point is a person
considered to be a proselyte to Messianic Judaism? Serving Yeshua
daily until He comes again!

When you accept Yeshua/Jesus as Messiah, you become
a member of the family of God. After this, God desires a people
who will worship Him in Spirit and in Truth (John 4:24).
