Dear Cheryle and Tom,

GOD IS GOOD! I have so much to be thankful for by God's goodness to
me. I am thankful and grateful for each one of you...your love,
prayers and support that you have so generously planted into Gospel
Research Foundation. With Thanksgiving upon us, I want to encourage
you during this season, to reflect on the goodness of God in your own
lives. A wonderful Thanksgiving Psalm is found in I Chronicles
16:8-36. The Lord has brought me to this scripture over and over with
a rich blessing added to my life: a clearer understanding of who He
is and how He sees me. "Recount His wonders regarding you this past
year, remember His wonderful deeds! Let the heart of those who seek
the Lord be glad! O give thanks to the Lord, for He is good: For His
lovingkindness is everlasting." I rejoice in the opportunity, that on
May 24, 1998, I once again get to lead a spiritual pilgrimage to
Jerusalem to celebrate Pentecost as it was celebrated in Bible days. I
wish you would join me on my bus. This is more than an archaeological
historical survey of the land, it is a spiritual encounter as we
participate in an international transdenominational event. Pray for me
and all who participate. Prayer continues to be an urgent need in the
development of Gospel Research Foundation. Please continue your prayer
support for teh work that must be done. Without your prayer support, I
will have a difficult time overcoming the spiritual forces opposing
this work. Remember, I love to pray for you and your needs. I go to
the Jess Little Prayer Garden, here at the ranch, to pray for the
needs you share with me. Keep me informed of your concerns. I am
thankful that the sequel to Jesus the Jewish Theologian, which is
titled Paul the Jewish Theologian: A Pharisee Among Christians, Jews
and Gentiles, is due to be available about the first week of December.
Some of you have prepad orders for $15 which includes postage. If you
would like to order a copy, or have already ordered one but would like
to autograph your copy, then please let me know. I am very excited
about the publication of this book. I hope you will be, too. Let us
hope we gain a fresh perspective on Paul. Please consider the Israel
trip in May. There will never be a better time for you to experinece
Israel. The Feast of Pentecost Tour will make the Bible come alilve.
"Blessed be the Lord, the God of Israel, From everlasting to
everlasting." May our Lord richly bless you in every way. Shalom for
your help and sharing our vision with so many.

Foundation, please write directly to Brad. If you would like a copy of
the Paul book, please send $15 (includes postage)in check or
money order to that address. HaY'Did also has a new supply of
Jesus the Jewish Theologian available. If you would like a copy to give
as a gift, then please let us know. $20/$22 + shipping. The set of two
books should be on everyone's shelf, and certainly would make a
wonderful gift for any pastor or Bible teacher.

Subject: News from HaY'Did and Associate Ministries

Dear Mishpachah (family):

As Missions Representative for the associate ministries Randy recently
finished a trip to Juarez, Mexico with Tom Holeman, Rabbi O, Marshall
and Suzanne Martz, and others. We pray that you enjoyed their reports
that were sent out to the newsgroup last week. A side note to you all
is that Andy, who was the site supervisor for the trip to Mexico, is
using Eddie Chumney's THE SEVEN FESTIVALS OF THE MESSIAH
to teach his Sunday School class from! You never know where it will
show up, do you?

We also wish to thank all the people that prayed for Rabbi O to have a
car. Your prayers were answered and he is now the proud but humble
owner of a family car in top running condition. His family was overjoyed and
unbelieving all in one emotion! We have chuckled at them for a week now,
and wanted to again thank you for your faithful prayers and faith for
our God to supply this need.

We also have added a few more questions to the Volunteer Questionaire on
HaY'Did's website that are designed to get feedback from our volunteers
on possibly going on some missions trip. Many of you have filled out the
questionaire and we thank you. But if you would like to go on a short
term trip or even a long term trip, please let Randy Felton know at
Potter's Clay (pottersclay@mail.icnet.net) by writing to him now. Some
people have talents and gifts that they would like to share. A dentist
contacted us that he would like to go and provide dental care the next
time. Another friend contacted us that they had been on tours to Israel
before, and wanted to give service in Israel to the people there through
helping Bridges for Peace with remodeling of homes or working in their
food pantry. Again and again we see people feeling the need to give
service to people, and we pray that we can network together to help all.

Part of our calling is to build a network within the structure of the
contacts that are made either directly or indirectly through the
newsgroup. We ask for prayer to purchase the much needed
ACCESS program to put the information into a data base so we
can start using more of the volunteers that have filled out our form. We
also ask for prayer for someone---other than Cheryle---to locally take
on the project. If you haven't filled out the Volunteer Questionaire, please
go to our website and do so now. If you have already received a free
issue of our magazine, could you also pray about becoming a member
of the Learning Center? If you have not received a free issue of our
magazine, then we have sample articles posted on our website for you
to copy off, and read over. And if you would like a free issue---and have
not received one---remember that they are free but cost us
approximately $2 each to send out---thanks to our members and
donors---then please feel free to fill out our guestbook to receive
one issue.

Over and over we hear people who aren't even on the internet who have
friends that save the study materials on disc and give them to people at
work, or friends who stop by. My own husband shares with five people at
work, and they love it. So, if each person only touches one other life,
then the newsgroup would be touching over 3000 families approximately!
WOW!

On our website this week we will be adding a revised catalog, and
information about Hanukkah, as well as a new link to all the popular
photo albums. A photo album of the Mexico trip will also be going up.
So, there is lots to see on our site. Check it out next weekend, okay?

We have revised extensively our site and added LOTS of new materials.
So bring your three ring binders and fill them up! We've archived many
of our past magazine articles, too, so you can see what kind of
quality teaching is presented in this magazine.

May I ask those of you who haven't become a member to consider
membership in the Learning Center at this time? We ask $15 a year per
family for a membership fee. If you visit our site you will see that
we have MORE FREE information than any other site out there. We are a
volunteer network...totally volunteer. No salaries, no buildings or
upkeep, and so forth. We only ask that you pray about becoming a
member and IF HE directs then join. Its that simple. Over 1500 FREE
magazines have been sent out only through the efforts of the members'
prayers. Of that only 200 have joined. We often call it "Gideon's
Army". But we ask you to pray about belonging, and helping us get the
message out. We are offically a 509a1 non-profit ...that means we are
a publically supported organization that is now offically recognized
by the IRS for tax purposes. Most people that are familiar with us,
know that our heart is to serve and teach. We offer books and teaching
materials on our site that help support us financially, too. Someone
asked, "But do you accept donations of money and computers and stuff?"
YES, we do. But the first donation that we need are your prayers.
Remember that our magazine is designed for duplication on any Xerox
copier. One lady says that she gets hers, and takes the two staples
out and makes copies for her Sunday School Class of 25 people, and she
knew that one man in the class made at least 25 copies of his after
that! Remember the GearWorks Prophesy and Pastor Nayra's confirmation
teaching that went out a few weeks ago (also may be seen on our site)?
Well, Nayra now has her own English site on our homepage where we
will be posting her teachings as often as we can. Nayra writes
a "MOrning Dew" article each day that is posted on the internet in Brazil.
Then as she has time she sends them to me in English, I edit them, and post
them. She now has a photo album page, too, from her trip to Basillia
last month. Her comments are a riot! And you will enjoy them. Other
things are in the works around here for more and more additions to our
website. We pray that it will truly be a blessing to you, and that you
will stay in touch with us. I can't tell you how much the email and
phone calls of encouragement mean to Tom and I here. Thanks for
thinking of us.

Now I want to share a very important report that is posted on our
website by Randy Felton, our Missions Representative. Thank you for all
your kindness and prayers. They are greatly appreciated!

Progress of the Timothy Program

http://www.haydid.org/potter.htm (Photo Album Link is now on site!
Please remember that Photos take extra time to load, so please be
patient.)

Dear Mishpachah (family):

I work with a group of men who feel called to provide correct teaching
for third world pastors. We call the teaching the Timothy Program. In it
are Torah studies developed by Dr. Clifford Denton and a whole series
of curriculum by Dr. Karl Coke. Dr. John Garr and Dr. Doug Wheeler are
writing curriculum and are an integral part as well.

I will try to give you a summary of the trip and the consequences. I
traveled to England where I met up with Dr. Clifford Denton and we then
traveled to Nairobi, Kenya. There we met with Dr. Karl Coke and met with
a group of pastors meeting at the Church of the Nazarene under a Bible
School taught by Bill Bisset. Dr. Coke had taught there for a week
before Dr. Denton and I arrived. We had only two sessions on the day we
were there but were well received. That evening we were joined by Dr.
Coke's wife, Karen, who had gone to the north with a team led by
J.L.Williams to visit some of the more remote villages.

The next day we set off for Malawi by air. Upon arrival in Lilongwe,
Malawi we were met by Ross Collier with the Baptist Bible School. Ross
was a contact I had been given through friends here in Oklahoma City.
Ross was invaluable in arranging for our lodging and car rental. We were
able to stay in guest houses and save the cost of hotel accommodations.
Malawi is one of the poorest countries on earth with no natural
resources and yet the hotel and car rental rates are the highest of
anywhere I have been. The hotels which would relate to a Holiday Inn
begin at $198.00/night with double occupancy. The rates for car rental
are similar. We rented a Nissan Patrol from a shop that does wreck
rebuilding and they also rent cars on the side. So we picked up our
4-wheel drive and headed off for Blantyre some 240 miles to the south.
The highway is a two lane black-top road which is not maintained by
Western standards....lots of pot holes. We did make our journey safely
and then proceeded to the village of Samuti in the middle of the Mphezu
Tea Estate which is down Thyolo Road, through Bvumbwe Village and then
out into the "bush". Often we drove down foot paths which were pretty
rough. We needed the ground clearance of the 4-wheel drive. There are a
couple of places where we were jostled pretty good. I swear it was not
my driving!

Upon arrival at the village we discovered that they were not expecting
us until the next week. The letter I had written them a month before had
not been received yet. The Pastor, Joe Mukiwa, had gone to do his math
exams and left two weeks prior to our arrival and so the letter was in
his post office box waiting for him to return. We found Joe's brother
Eric, who is seventeen, and he offered to take us to Joe at his school
in another village.

After dropping Dr. & Mrs. Coke off at the Baptist Guest House in
Blantyre we set off to find Joe. While driving through the bush I simply
asked Eric "Who is Jesus?" Eric thought for a second and began to
answer; "He is my Savior.....He is the Son of God..................He is
the living Torah!" You could have knocked me over with a feather. All of
a sudden it became clear. Pastor Joe had not only received the teaching
material he had been sent and done the assignments for Dr. Denton to
examine, but he was already teaching what he had learned to his
congregation. This seventeen year old boy had gotten the essence of the
teaching and was able to respond without prompting.

We did find Joe and had a good meeting with him and then we went to the
village the day after to hold services and talk to his elders and other
church leaders from surrounding villages. We were able to give them an
accordion and tambourine that had been donated for them. They did enjoy
their song service with the added music. After sharing our hearts we
left and went back to town.

The next day we picked up pastor Joe and two of his church leaders and
set off for the Chikwawa district to a village in the south. We had to
drive over the mountains, through heavy fog and down through the valley
across the Shire River and past sugar cane plantations. Finally we
arrived at the village and it was stark. The last visit we sat under a
brush arbor next to a large tree and had services. Now there is no brush
arbor...washed away in the fall floods. The village has been hit hard by
the floods of the Shire River overflowing it's banks. Since they are not
a part of a large denomination, they do not have the aid of others
around them. They depend on the UN relief which is not always adequate.
Yet, they have retained their joy and we were well received. I had
purchased some maize(corn), rice, beans and salt and had pastor Joe give
it to the pastor of the village church. When we presented the Timothy
Program to them we then asked them if it is something they would want.
Through our interpreter, the pastor very kindly refused saying that he
did not read English and it would be of no use to him. It was then
explained that we would have it translated into their local dialect and
then with a very large smile he gratefully accepted. We often forget
that not everything we would offer is useful or wanted. I think we
learned a valuable lesson and were grateful that we were preparred for
their needs.

>From Malawi we flew to Harare, Zimbabwe. Dr. Coke had a series of
meetings at a local Pentecostal Church for the week. Dr. Denton and I
went to stay at Shiloh Shalom, a farm owned by Denis and Joan Cooper in
the Highlands district of Harare. This gave us time to visit with Rod &
Penny Valentine (Penny is the daughter of Denis and Joan) who are the
African representatives for Christian Friends of Israel. Rod kindly
offered his office and services to help with the printing and
distribution of teaching materials throughout Africa. This means we can
send masters over and not have to ship the printed materials to each
country from here. What a blessing and savings to the ministry.
We were also able to meet with a young man we had met earlier in 1996
named Farayi (fa-rye). Farayi is doing Torah studies with Dr. Denton and
is preparing to teach local pastors and lead them in the Timothy
Program. Farayi is a key man in Zimbabwe for this work.

Next was a stop in Johannesburg,South Africa for Dr. Denton and me. We
met Joan Hooper who had arranged a Bed & Breakfast for our stay. Michael
Page flew up from Cape Town and we had a full day of meeting with him.
Michael is leading a home study group and is already teaching Hebrew.
Michael will take on the Timothy Program for South Africa. He has a like
heart and mind.

We are anticipating great things to come out of South Africa. This ended
our tour in Africa. We feel the meetings and contacts were solid and the
work will go as we feel the Lord has directed. All of us involved in the
Timothy Program are convinced that we have key people in place to do
what the Lord has led us to do. God has gone ahead of us and preparred
the way before us. Things did not go as we had planned but they
certainly went the way God had planned them.

Dear Mishpachah (family),

God is good, isn't HE? Lately we have seen so many wonderful things
happening. I'd like to share some with you.

Kansas has just published their new Foundations Directory and also put
it on line. If you want to play around with it go to
http://www.ink.org and push the link to "libraries". This is on Kansas
State's homepage. Maybe your state has one? You can also buy a copy of
the Directory for $65 if you choose. The man who wrote it works for
Topeka Public Library. I know him and he is very thorough in his work.

If you have never written a grant but are interested in them, then you
should know that most grants are given within a certain geographical
area. In other words, if you don't live in Kansas then you probably
wouldn't get one from one of our foundations. But each state or
geographical area have these directories available either online or at
a location within your state. The Foundation Center has cooperating
collections at libraries throughout the USA for over 40,000
foundations. There are over 200 such collections throughout the
country. The Foundation Center is also "online" at
http://www.fdncenter.org and has several helpful courses that you may
print out and study right on their site. Suggested Resources: The
Council on Foundations http://www.cof.org Grantsmanship Center
http://www.tgci.com/sampmenu.htm Chronicle of Philanthropy
subscriptions@philanthropy.com

If you are interested in joining a network of non-profits in your
area, you can call your State Offices or Public Library to see if
there is a version of THE KANSAS NON-PROFIT ASSOCIATION. This is
open to any and all non-profits including churches, ministries and
anyone who is a non-profit. You can find support from the lawyers,
accountants, members and resources that work with such an
organization. It is very reasonably priced and once a month you will
have a chance to meet other non-profits that may have information that
you are looking for. A survey may be sent out to all of the KNPA
members about such things as interest in health insurance as a group,
insurance for our offices, legislative matters, software for
non-profits, fund raising technics, public relations seminars, and
effective volunteerism. If you are interested in any of these things,
then I would strongly recommend that you pursue this invaluable
support system.

I have been involved in non-profits since 1981 and I can assure you
that there is knowledge here that is not being used effectively by the
majority of ministries.

When I went to our recent KNPA meeting Wednesday I got to meet the
President of the Board of KNPA for the first time. I send our magazine
to the office as a courtesy copy to be put in our file incase any one
wants to see what we do. I was pleasantly surprised when the president
told me that he was enjoying reading the magazine. He said that he
didn't understand everything that we had written but that he always
looked forward to each issue. He was glad to see that we were online,
also as we are the ONLY non-profit that is in KNPA that is! He also
shared with me that because he had read our magazine he had some ideas
on helping us. Would I mind calling his office next week to visit? He
mentioned grants specifically which is his area of expertise and
agreed to look over any grant proposals we might write in the future,
and he also said that he may have some ideas on specific givers, too.
Needless to say, I almost shouted for joy right there on the
spot---okay, I did! Here was one of our magazine opening doors that
may benefit the work that is going forth.

Afterwards several came up to me and asked me if they could come to
my office and visit about getting on the web and finding out how to do a
website. They also asked for copies of our magazine which I always
carry in the trunk of my car. Needless to say, doors ARE opening, and
we thank you for your prayers. Many of you either head or belong to a
non-profit that may need this information. If you are a head of one of
these organizations then I would encourage you to go as a guest to one
of their meetings. Test the waters and see if there might be some
information there that you use. I do NOT evangelize at these meetings.
I simply state that I represent HaY'Did Ministries of Independence, KS
and then listen to what people are saying. Do you know that I was the
ONLY ministry that was in attendance? Why? Because other churches
and ministries don't attend! They do not realize what a valuable asset
this information can be! Many ministries are not associated with a
denomination and therefore do not have health insurance or other
things. Through the non-profit organization there may be a large
group that you can join! In Kansas we just formed this KNPA
organization within the last year, so we only have 100 member
organizations of the 3000 non-profits that are in existence in the
state. It is QUITE A LARGE insurance group, and believe me when the
premimum is offered, it will be quite attractive to the members. The
more members---the better the price...I know...I use to sell
Prudential Insurance years ago, and health insurance is needed by
most non-profits. At HaY'Did we are busy revising and adding to our
website. We invite you to bring your notebook and study with us at the
Learning Center, and if you haven't ordered your free issue of our
magazine, please drop us your mailing address, okay? Of course, we
welcome your notes of encouragement and support. Shalom, and may
the God of Israel smile on you and bless you!

Dear Mishpahah,

Here is a report from Joan Womack in Oklahoma City from the Prayer
Gathering. Tom and I went to OKC on Monday and met Joan and a good
friend as the Prayer Gathering began. We have kept in touch all week,
and we have been blessed by others in the newsgroup also setting aside
this special time to pray around the world. You may now contact Joan
directly through a friend at trader1@earthlink.net if you have a
prayer request. We do ask that you copy the newsgroup or HaY'Did at
http://www.haydid.org so that we can also pray in agreement. Let's use
Joan as the main coordinator for the prayer requests whenever
possible. Her Concert of Prayer group in OKC will also join in prayer
at the same time. At Gearworks website at
http://www.haydid.org/gearworks.htm we will also post an automatic
email link so you can get in touch through there. Any other website
that would like to link to Gear Works is also welcomed to do that. I
will also post a short cut in our new main directory that will say
simply: "Prayer Requests" in case any one gets to our site and forgets
the extension for Gear Works. Others may also want to do the same.
