From: Helen Segura To: heb_roots_chr@geocities.com Subject: Re: Hebraic Roots Fellowship Shalom, I would like to add my heartfelt cry of Amen! to the grateful thanks of my brethren. I thank God for your all and for the Internet that makes this contact possible. Let us pray a blessing on the Net to rain down on it and keep filth to a minimum and God's light to a maximum. I would just like to give a word of warning to all of you who love God and Israel and would want to fellowship with Messianic congregations. That is wonderful, but I feel that there is a danger of falling into a "poor misunderstood me" attitude and not congregating anywhere. There is no reason why you/we should not respect the festivals and shabbat as we feel we should to the measure the Lord gives us light on these things, and attend the local church at the same time. I think this is particularly important in small locations where most everybody knows everybody else and it would not be a positive testimony to isolate oneself. As we learn and share with others, perhaps the Lord will touch their hearts and each of us could start an informal group going that would attract a (better prepared) leader. Meanwhile, let us go forward, "line by line and step by step". The Lord's blessings on you all Shalom, Helen (Spain) ********************************************************************** From: Debbie Lockledge <lockledge@ie.tamu.edu> Subject: Re: Hebraic Roots Fellowship Is there a Messianic fellowship anywhere near the Bryan/College Station, TX area? I have recently received Eddie's books and am currently reading "Who is the Bride of Christ". I am just about half way into the book and it has already made quite an impression on me. Many things have been made clear about why it is important for me to try to live my life by God's law. I am very excited about the concept of Spiritual Maturity as discussed in the book and how it relates to the Bride of Christ. Now that I understand how God wants to relate to me, and to all of us, I feel that I am more able to love God with all my heart and less tempted to allow sin into my life! This has all been so wonderful, and I thank God for leading me to you and to this work! I am so excited that I've decided that 1998 is the year that I want to become involved in God's work. I have prayed for a long time that His will be revealed to me, and I believe that I am being led to get involved, find out what my special talent might be, and become a servant to Him and to you all. I havn't signed up for the conference in Tulsa yet, but as soon as I get the specifics of transportation and the cost of the hotel worked out I plan to get registered. Here are a few questions for anyone on the newsgroup who might be planning to attend the conference: I live in central Missouri and was wondering if anyone else in the area would be interested in carpooling? I am also wondering if any other women planning to attend might be interested in a roomate at the hotel to help lower the cost of lodging? And finally, since I've never been to one of these conferences before, I was wondering if I could make arrangements to meet with some people at the hotel so I don't have to get around by myself. I'm looking forward to hearing back from anyone who might have suggestions for me, and I can't wait to partake in the blessings of the conference! Shalom!
