Subject: Where was Eddie and the newsgroup?

     Dear Mishpachah (family):

I got many e-mail's from members of the newsgroup wondering
'Where is my newsgroup e-mail?'.  Was there a problem with my server?
Was any newsgroup e-mail sent? Where was Eddie?

I want to thank everybody for their concerns. I praise God
that the newsgroup blesses so many people enough that they miss it
(some even have severe withdrawal symptoms) when they don't receive
it on a weekly basis.

As you know from the note that I posted, I attended the
Christian Alliance for Israel conference in Orlando, Florida from
April 29 - May 4, 1998.  The conference was absolutely, totally
wonderful. I don't think I have ever been to a more enjoyable
conference. To see so many believers in Yeshua/Jesus as Messiah
showing their love, appreciation and support for the Jewish people and
the nation of Israel was simply incredible. The praise and worship
was outstanding (singing and dancing to the songs of Zion) and we had
a great group of speakers everyday, three times a day.

I asked the Lord to guide my steps each day of the
conference and God was totally faithful. I got to meet and talk with
several of the leaders of the conference, I got to meet many others
in Messianic / Hebraic Roots leadership and I got several invitations
to speak around the country and even on national television.

It was my intention to resume the newsgroup on May 6 as I
wrote to the newsgroup stating so before I left. However, when I
returned, I was so swamped with ministries "catch up" that it took
me a full week to get my head above water (I am still not caught up -
keeping caught up becomes a vicious cycle that is a constant battle
to keep my head above water). It is real challenging keeping up with
all the ministry duties (including the newsgroup) when you work a
full-time job and only can do so on your volunteer "free time". Even
as I am writing this note, it is 1AM in the morning.

I LLLLLLOOOOOOVVVVVVVVEEEEEE the newsgroup. I praise God
that it is such a wonderful blessing to so many people. We now have
almost 2000 members in the network and almost 1500 receiving the
newsgroup e-mail. Lives are being touched and changed because of the
newsgroup while so many believers are discovering the roots of their
faith in a greater capacity than they have ever experienced in the
past.

The newsgroup is very time consuming for me but it is also very
rewarding. I can't think of any other way that I would like to be
spending my time other than serving God and uplifting His Kingdom.
Even so, somedays and sometimes, I get so backed up with keeping up
with everything that there is no other choice but to take time off
from time to time. That was the situation in the past week and that
was why there was no newsgroup e-mail last week. So, there was no
newsgroup the past two weeks because the first week I was in Orlando
attending the Christian Alliance for Israel conference and this past
week I was swamped catching up with ministry responsibilities.

As a side note, for those of you who have not taken the time to take
advantage of the special offers I made to celebrate the reprinting of
my 7 Festivals book, the special offers end on May 31st.

Thank you for your prayers, love and support of this
ministry. Thank you also for your many notes of encouragement.

I pray that the newsgroup continues to be a blessing to all
of our members of this network.

                                         Shalom in Messiah,

                                         Eddie Chumney
