Subject: HaY'Did Vision
Shalom Dear Mishpachah,
I will try to convey to you some of the vision of the network of
ministries that we are working with. I know that some of you have
attended conferences where we have spoken, but I feel that you need to
understand some of what we are about.
HaY'Did works with a network of ministries that are forming a
Global Network to help bring forth a message rather than bring forth one
man or one single person. The Global Network is formed on the basis of
SERVANTHOOD. Within the Global Network we serve each other. If you have
been watching you will see that the newsgroup is a branch of that
teaching message. Its done free and available to all people. No one
man's message or materials are promoted above another. We work in unity
to tell you where the seminars and conferences are of the whole network.
We are educators and not a denomination. We've laid aside the worldly
ways of promotion. All of us point to each other. If a person calls one
of us and wants a book on a topic that we didn't write, then that
association member will say, "You need to call such and such.." or if
someone calls and says that they want to attend a conference in their
area of the country, then the associate will tell them who is coming to
their area. Instead of just being selfish, we are called to work as a
body to bring forth a message! IN UNITY we walk side by side!
HaY'Did is just one organization within the network. We have a
learning center that helps the student find the right materials and
helps the teachers get the support that they need. Other ministries
within the network may support in another way. Each of us is called
to support the body as educators to bring forth mature students of the
Word, and to restore the Jewish roots of our faith through our mission
statement: to train, educate and equip for study both the Jew and the
Non-Jew in the rich Biblical Hebraic heritage of our faith.
HaY'Did's vision is to create three divisions:
(1) one that will support conferences and seminars with volunteers
and finances as needed,
(2) another to help with publishing and the development of materials
even for the handicapped and into foreign languages, and
(3) the HaY'Did Learning Center where students can find materials and
help with providing volunteer development.
How can this be done? Well, everytime
someone purchases materials from HaY'Did, then we plow those profits
back into the ministry and expand the inventory or other much needed
services. We work as a network of ministries to get the message out
as needed. We've had calls and letters from prisons needing materials,
and from underdeveloped nations. Randy Felton's area of expertise is
missions trips and works. He is the one that screens the requests and
then goes overseas if necessary to see that the materials for teaching
are placed into the right hands. He takes mission trips to Mexico, too.
Dr. Garr and Dr. Doug Wheeler are hoping to go to India and to Brazil to
teach, and I am sure that other teachers are being asked to go to other
parts of the world to teach, too.
What would it be like to have the funds to develop a publishing company
within the network? I am sitting on about 100 new books that need to
be printed, and countless magazine articles, too. What stops us all from
publishing are finances! We were at two conferences and we tried
something. We laid out my little sabbath book with its spiral plastic
binder next to a book that was basically the same except it had the nice
laminated cover and two color cover. Mine sold for $3. The other for $7.
Guess which one sold? The more expensive! Guess which one is welcomed in
Christian bookstores? The more expensive! I have to duplicate mine on my
wonderful Xerox copier (as do many of the teachers). We produce them ten
at a time. Why? Finances!
We believe that within the network people like Dr. Garr and the
Restoration Foundation are there to help all of us produce materials in
a format that will be able to be taken into bookstores around the world.
We get requests all the time from bookstores wanting to carry our
materials, but we can't produce the materials in the format that they
need. John has developed The Golden Key Publishing Partners. Write to
John today to have him send you information on this valuable tool of the
network. Maybe you are a printer that would like to volunteer your
time if we can supply the disc or materials to print. Maybe your company
would like to be a blessing by making a donation towards helping in some
way, or you just want to help in a small way by purchasing materials for
you own studies...Thanks! That profit is plowed back into helping all of
us do the work we are called to do.
The membership of HaY'Did's Learning Center have learned the benefits of
belonging: four issues of our magazine THE TREE OF LIFE, a copy of our
NEW catalog designed for homeschoolers and home study, and discounts on
books and conferences. We have developed many friendships across the
miles to homes, churches and individuals that enjoy the magazine and
being that prayerful support that helps cover us as we go about our
work. Eddie is working on revising our online catalog and when it is
finished then we will let you know. He is such a servant to everyone of
you. Please continue to pray for him, okay? He is another volunteer that
works a full time job, and then does his ministry late late at night to
get the newsgroup sent out, or works on projects for the members of the
network. We appreciate his dedication and service.
We also maintain a large website at http://www.haydid.org
where you can
study FREE and visit the network of ministries in our extensive
linking of ministries together. This is provided through the support of
HaY'Did members and the support of people buying books. We appreciate
our server TERRAWORLD.NET that allow us to put up what we need to teach
you. They are a wonderful Lutheran family to have as next door
neighbors, and believe in the message that we are bringing forth. They
also love to attend our gatherings and fellowship with us locally. They
have seen the blessing that can come to their business by providing that
extra space that we required to put up the Learning Center. We
appreciate them all!
Soon we will have other major announcements to make and I hope that you
will pray over the network, okay?
Shalom,
Cheryle Holeman

Subject: Conference Updates from HaY'Did Learning
Center
Dear Mishpahah,
I can't resist. Have to tell you of two exciting events coming up:
First, Randy Felton is coming to Independence Sept 18-19, 1998 to
teach THE HISTORY AND GEOGRAPHY OF ISRAEL in a seven hour course to
our local group. He will be using Martin Gilbert's THE ATLAS OF JEWISH
HISTORY (retail $20 and available from HaY'Did Learning Center) to
teach from. If you are interested in attending this weekend of
fellowship and teaching please call me at 1-316-331-7712 or visit the
website at http://www.haydid.org This would be your
turn to meet our
locals and also to take a class. The class is suitable for
homeschoolers, Sunday School teachers, pastors, families and
individuals that want to expand their knowledge of Israel. Randy has
traveled to Israel thirteen times and is taking a tour in March 1999.
For more information on the tour (with Dr. Doug Wheeler also) please
contact pclay@hebroots.org or mendwing@bellsouth.net. For
information on conferences and seminars please visit the website:
http://www.haydid.org
Now for some more exciting information:
On Saturday of the Jerusalem Conference in Little Rock, Robin Scarlata
of Heart of Wisdom Ministry and Jimmilea Berryhill of Jubilee
Christian Center had lunch with me. It proved to be one of the most
annointed times of our lives! So grab a cup of coffe and get ready to
have your heart touched, okay? Robin, Jimmilea and I started talking
about the role of women within Jewish roots and how there were many
new revelations that were coming forth that could restore balance to
the family and to our lives through these studies. Jimmilea has
graduated from Arkansas Institute of Holy Land Studies with her
master's degree and is working on finding a college to work on her
doctorate. We know other women that are also pursuing their degrees
and are wonderful teachers. Robin has been in homeschool ministry for
years. Her wonderful book FAMILY GUIDE TO THE BIBILICAL HOLIDAYS WITH
ACTIVITIES FOR ALL AGES needs to be reprinted. Its perfect for Sunday
Schools, Sabbath Schools, home schools and even adult study. But
again, the need for the funds to reprint are there. Robin is also
helping HaY'Did develop a homeschool catalog and program, and we are
all anxious for Bridges for Peace's new Hebraic Heritage for
Children's Curriculum to be published. All of us are working together
to get the message out, but where shall we get all the finances
needed, we asked? So as Robin, Jimmilea and I talked about things that
we wanted to share with others, it became evident that something was
being birthed. We decided to ask Dr. John Garr is perhaps his magazine
RESTORE! might be interested in carrying some articles on women's
issues, and he agreed. He told us that the next issue of RESTORE!
would address eldership and that the following would be the women's
issue. So if you haven't subscribed to RESTORE! by now, then you need
to go to their site and join! For only $20 you can recieve these
issues and more! You can also read some other issues of the magazine
and share those with your friends and family. But as we talked we
realized that something else was being birthed...a women's conference!
We started talking about where and who would speak, and as we passed
by Dr. Marvin Wilson's table we told him. He grinned and said, "Its
about time! This is good!" We told him that we wanted it to be women
ministering to women just as scripture had admonished older women to
counsel younger, we would bring forth the things that women needed to
discuss among themselves. He grinned and said, "Yes! This is good." So
off we went to grab a phone and make some calls. We found a wonderful
facility in Branson, MO. BUT we needed $1200 deposit to hold the
conference center? So where would we come up with the money? We
started sharing the vision with a few of our friends, and within four
days we had it! Not only that but HaKesher (Ken and Lenore Mullican -
Dr. Robert Lindsey's family asked if they could co-sponsor the
conference). Baruch HaShem! All of the speakers have agreed to come.
As we receive their bios we will post them. We have posted many of
their teaching topics and we've really cut the budget down to bare
bones to accommodate women's pocket books. Registration is $30
(non-refundable) and meals and sleeping accommodations are also within
reach. How does $100-166 total for registration, 5 meals and 2 nights
lodging sound? Great, huh? We are limiting it to the first 200 women
that register. If you pray about coming, then I believe you will know
if you are to be there. New books and articles will be out by February
19-21, 1999 (the Conference Dates), and so we are planning on making
tapes available and also book packages for those that wish to order.
Believe me, this will be an annointed time of teaching and fellowship
for all. So here's the link to the website where you can find out
about the women's conference, okay? http://www.haydid.org/women.htm
If
you cannot attend, then we've even created an email on the site where
you can drop us a note to leave your address and information about
yourself. The conference will fill up fast, we believe, but if the
interest is there to hold other conferences, we will need your
prayerful support. So what happens if you want to make a reservation
for this conference? You have all the information on the website for
attending. What happens if you want to make a donation towards helping
us publish these books and magazine? We'll accept donations, too. We
can take credit cards also. Believe me, we all have materials that we
want to publish but its the finances that are holding us back. Our
heart is to create this publishing company and to underwrite the
printing of materials. I know that there are others out there that are
not part of the network that also have materials. We can expand
our services to the teachers that we now have, and through donations,
grants (anyone wanna write one for
us?), and prayerful support we can help get the message out to all
people. Visit our website today and fill out the volunteer form, or
drop us an email to let us now how you can support us in this work. I
so appreciate the prayers! IF WE WILL PRAY HE WILL SUPPLY! Attached
is the current (8-19-98) Conference Schedule that is posted on our
website. I drop everything and update that page almost daily with
conference and seminar information. So stop by at least once a week to
see what is going on, okay? We know that there will be those of you
that can help the network bring in the teachers and speakers to
your area of the country. Most of our conferences are only 30 people.
WE'd like more, and the teachers are available. Contact them today!
