Subject: Eddie BIOS / newsgroup update

Dear Mishpochah:

As I mentioned in an earlier newsgroup note, my BIOS on my
PC which I use to send out the newsgroup is not Y2K compliant. I was
able to find out my BIOS manufacturer and model. Then, I went to the
website of the manufacturer and was able to download a BIOS update
which should make my PC 2YK compliant. In order to not take any
chances that something might go wrong, I need to do a backup of my
PC. I won't be ready to do this by Jan 1st. Therefore, I am going to turn
my clock back on my computer to December 1, 1999 until I am ready to
do the backup and run the program to upgrade my BIOS and make it Y2K
compliant.

What that means to our newsgroup members is that for the
next couple of weeks when the newsgroup e-mail is sent to you, you
will probably receive the newsgroup e-mail in your e-mail reader list
in your December 1999 e-mail. Various e-mail programs treat new
e-mail differently. For those that only display your new e-mail
messages, the newsgroup e-mail messages will be at the bottom of your
new e-mail. For those e-mail programs that download the new e-mail
but don't separate the new e-mail from your old e-mail, the newsgroup
e-mail will once again be listed in your December 1999 new e-mail.

Sorry for the inconvenience. I hope that sometime in
January 2000, I will have had time to back up my PC and run the BIOS
upgrade that will allow me to set the clock on my PC to the current
date.
